The small Kuban city is known in a sporting world as the informal capital of judo and sambo. The correspondent of "KN" found out the factors defining success and popularity of local sports school.

In the central park of Armavir, round the fountain, honor rolls settled down. Among photographs on a board with the name "The Best Athletes of the City" in the obvious numerical majority sambo wrestlers and judoists. Moreover – them also the separate board is allocated: all winners and prize-winners of world and European tournaments on one simply aren't located.

The regional school of these sports is based here, in Armavir, but in a distance from the center, between trolleybus depot and plant. In 2003 the head of Armavir of that time Victor Kolodyazhny helped sambo wrestlers to catch the sports complex which was earlier belonging to plant. Before sambos and judo here began to be engaged, in a complex of sports and didn't think – the plant leased it under weddings, anniversaries, city holidays. And having only replaced owners, the sport center got the second life. Every day, in the morning and in the evening, hundreds athletes young and old here train. Here equipped a tennis court, a soccer field – all martial artists, and sambo wrestlers not an exception, not bad address with a ball, a recreation area with a bath and massage tables.

– Such base as ours, can't brag anybody in the south of Russia! – the director of regional school of sambo and judo, the president of federation of these sports Rudolf Baboyan speaks. – But nevertheless sometimes and it doesn't suffice to us – now in Armavir ten sambo and judo coachs work, four hundred people so in at one time in a hall some groups of different trainers train are engaged.

Rudolf Baboyan – the gray-haired, clean-shaven man with strong hands – is more similar to the teacher of university, than to the single combats coach. Quiet accurate voice, the correct speech, kind eyes – as at wise old men in Robert Saakyants's animated films. But if it is necessary, Rudolf Mikhaylovich can be and rigid – without this ability to the trainer anywhere. In general all successes of Armavir school of sambo are connected with Baboyan. He started being engaged in single combats in section at local teacher's college late enough – in 14 years, but in four years executed the standard of the master of sports. And in a year I became the first regular trainer in section – before there were only part-time workers. And the real successes came to Armavir in the late eighties – the beginning of the ninetieth when residents of Armavir at first began to win at regional competitions, bypassing strong residents of Maykop and residents of Krasnodar. And since 1991 pupils came to world level: Ashot Markaryan, Stepan Eliazyan, Alexander Pogolov win in the championships and superiority of the world and Europe. Since then the Armavir school of sambo becomes known not only in Russia.

– Seven years ago Spaniards offered me the contract, – Baboyan remembers. – Roughly speaking, then I received 500 dollars, and they offered 3 thousand. But I saw prospect, knew for what I worked – after all the school. And in three-four years at us it became better: good experts, successful the trainer get quite good wages, it isn't less than in the West.

– When here I arrived, at once I understood that it is necessary here not only as the athlete but also as the person, – explains Beslan Mudranov, the winner of the World Cup, the champion of Europe on judo.

Beslan moved eight years ago to Armavir and already considers itself local: the apartment I got, registered.

– It is no secret that treat athletes differently. Usually well – while you win, you win medals. Here all in a different way. Besides such conditions for trainings as here, more anywhere isn't present.

The blue-eyed blonde with a snow-white smile Tatyana Kazinyuk not всписывается in a habitual stereotype of the sportswoman. But the impression is deceptive – Tanya is engaged in judo seventeen years since parents brought on section. Also I managed to win already a lot of things, some years to live in Samara, but nevertheless came back home.

– Secret of Armavir school of sambo and judo, first of all, – in her people, – she is sure. –   Rudolf Mikhaylovich, and other trainers – all treat kindly athletes. – Here you, first of all, as the person are important. No matter, there is at you a result, isn't present – the main thing that there was a desire to work, and you will already respect for it. P\oetoma me here pulls, it is pleasant to me to train here. When about you worry, there is a desire to work, feeling that you and your occupations are necessary to someone else, except themselves and native.

In Baboyan's conversation with me I told:

– Contacted me with the offer from Cheboksary. Any trainer recommended by me, wait there with open arms, promise a solid salary, a big hall, good conditions … But anybody doesn't want to leave. And ourselves try the best not to release.

Really, who will want to leave a place where you appreciate not so much successes? Same how to leave a family. And the trust of dear people always inspires and motivates on new, in this case, sports feats.
