— Hello, Yoel!

— Kostya. Konstantin Yoel Razvozov. In Hebrew it is more convenient to me to formulate the thoughts, than in Russian, but the first name at me still Kostya.

— Kostya means. Judo is quite well developed in Israel, the Olympic medals, victories in the World Cups and Europe. Your victories occupy one of the main places in a track record of the Israeli achievements. With what everything began?

— In youth I wasn't considered as the perspective wrestler. There were talented children, I was for them a sparring, "a bag for a beating" — so it at us was called. I was really worse than the others: coordination wasn't. It, probably, strange now sounds? But and was... The asthmatic I was. Today, by the way, I carry out training here, in the Knesset — surely I take with myself an inhaler.

In my group there were three capable wrestlers who were going abroad on competitions — they were "conducted" by our trainer, on them the main rate became. At 18-year age, before conscription, I decided to hand over the test organized by federation of judo, for finding of the status of "professional athlete" which granted the right to train during service. It provide only chosen, and I didn't pass it. After all years given by judo, infinite trainings, the money earned by a hard work and spent for me by parents, to me refused. With a verdict "it is insufficiently good". Dali the status of the sparring partner provided by that who was good to become at best the rival of "professional athletes" in training process. Such too are necessary. Generally, as I told above, "bag".

I set for myself new, almost impossible purpose — before dismissal from army to break through in the national team of Israel, in the Olympic structure. It meant to win two medals in one year on category "A" tournaments, on World Cups. I didn't tell about it to anybody because would ridicule. Was considered that I in general on anything am not capable: I and the local championship couldn't win. Only I told to parents that calmed down: if it turns out nothing, I will go to the university. Also I continued to train persistently.

Qualification tournaments began. The winner of three selections was given disposable opportunity to go abroad. Usually "for a hillock" carried favourites of the trainer, perspective children. For other the admission were just these qualification tournaments: you win three — you go once, you lose — you wait year before the following selection. I never won therefore didn't go anywhere. For me it there was the last chance: 20 years already, slightly remained to a demobilization and the promised university. And … I won!

— All three?

— All three. I won the right to go to the World Cup in the Austrian Linz. When came for the first fight in Austria, almost all our collections already managed to take off in the previous competitive day. The Italian, and further according to the list appeared the first on my way: Austrian, Korean, Frenchman. Nobody believed that I will pass also a round, and here suddenly I appear in the final! For gold I left to fight against the Cuban. Said that he sits on steroids, is strong, aggressive and there is nothing to catch to me. But in 20 seconds I put it.

— Remember that tested at this moment?

— Podium in Linz. The Israeli anthem is carried on Hitler's homeland, our flag flies in the hall center, I hold a flag. Emotions, power the improbable! We perfectly realized where, to what place we go to represent Israel. For me I was important not only this message, but also that I was a repatriate. Israel for us made a lot of things, and there was a wish to make something for Israel. So I became the youngest Israeli athlete who has won the World Cup. Ridiculously, but right after rewarding me took away on a doping test. From where supposedly it undertook, such young, the dope here is probable. And I as already I spoke, the asthmatic. The reference that I accept the drug "Ventolin" against asthma that didn't carp is necessary to me. At me at itself wasn't the international passports, documents any in general: I after all also couldn't assume that on a pedestal it will appear.

Generally, I asked one of children of our national team, first, urgently to bring the passport, and secondly, to run to call to Israel to doctor Liouba in Vingeyt's institute that immediately I found and sent to Austria the reference on "Ventolin". The panic rose: conversations international cost much also evening of Friday — the person is at home has a rest. Doctor Liouba shouted in a tube: "Why the trainer didn't take? Why Yoel didn't take? Why the head of the delegation didn't take? " She has to throw and run now everything in day off to look for the reference. On this my friend answered: "And who thought in general, what he will win? ."

So I understood that I count for something. Then there were at once some successful elite tournaments, and I got to the Olympic structure of the national team.

— Then big victories came also...

— the 2002nd — the fifth place in the European championship, the 2004th — silver of the European championship and the Olympic Games, the 2005th — still silver …

— The anti-Israeli or anti-Semitic incidents happened in your career?

— Everything around is proud carried symbolics of the countries. Except us. ShABAK strictly forbade to dress colors of a national flag, after all we instantly became terrorist object, a target. It depressed, it was very offensive. The only way to compensate "moral damage" was to climb up a pedestal and to hoist the colors.

The Iranian athletes didn't compete to us on a ring, to them forbade.  We, present, felt remorse for that they can't resist to us in honest fight.  One Iranian, the double world champion, the applicant for the Olympic gold in Athens, didn't manage to come to a carpet at all — was deducted for absence on the first fight against ours Fish Shoe-polish.  But I was entitled in the homeland the national hero.  One more representative of Iran didn't leave in the World Cup against me.  I pass by — he shouts, sobs.  Heart-breaking show.

— Your style call a lightning blitz, a typhoon. From where such comparisons undertook?

— My fastest victory "ippon" was recorded in 2 seconds.

— ? !

— In the Grand Prix quarterfinal in Prague I threw the Japanese. I have a photo where it on a carpet lies has a rest — hours show 4.58. This Japanese, as well as all the rivals, I carefully studied. I knew that it exposes a foot forward. It also prevented it. In Athens in three seconds I put the Cuban. It is the Olympic Games record. I was rather afraid of it: in two months prior to games he won against me. I went for broke: it developed, I jumped, I threw it — on everything three seconds left. After that fight it was gone — didn't see it more on a ring never. For the athlete, of course, shame, an embarrassment — so to lose it. Four years prepare for the Olympic Games, you stake everything that for three seconds to take off — the pulled-out years …

— After many years of fights on a ring, mad dynamics of sports life what was to appear here, in this office in the Knesset?

— I got to policy due to a misunderstanding, it is possible to tell. On shootings of the entertainment event "Seven forty" on the Israeli Ninth channel there was a head of administration of our city. The host Jan Levinzon very emotionally presented me: such-rastakoy, our pride, mass of epithets. After shootings I approached to the mayor to greet, told that too from Netanya. And in half a year she called and offered: "Give join our list on elections". My reaction habitually worked: I didn't manage to think, at once told "yes". Suggest to be responsible for sports in the city — it is necessary to go. Then already I began to reflex, why all this policy is necessary to me. But I joined work, I devoted it time and energy a great lot, I managed to shift any things from a dead point. I worked on a voluntary basis.

— And to big-time politics as got?

— The offer [arrived to stand for the Knesset] from Yesh Atid party of Yair Lapid, and I agreed. Gathered on last elections of 19 mandates — and here I here. 24 hours per day. Day of a family celebrated on Friday, the daughter returned from school with drawing of our family — there the little father somewhere on the periphery of composition is deployed. I knew that for the sake of work it is necessary to endow time which can be spent with a family, but didn't think that to such an extent.

— What it is possible to do 24 hours in the Knesset?

— I head the commission on is more scarlet also than absorption, and these are mountains of constantly arriving material, delicate, difficult questions of repatriates. Just today discussion of our legislative initiative on civil burial and counteraction of posthumous discrimination took place.

I was present on a funeral of the person, the Jew on a nationality, the patriot and the philanthropist who expressed desire to be buried under laws of civil burial, but didn't achieve it. I found a problem on which earlier and I didn't reflect. Many families of our repatriates are mixed. All life lived together, and will be buried separately, in the different ends of the city? After our intervention, long discussions of power concerning burial passed from the Ministry of affairs of religions to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Within 180 days the new law on civil burials has to be approved.

— And what about soldiers of the non Jewish origin?

— Here too there is a shift. Before the non Jewish soldiers who have killed in action buried in the non Jewish sectors, but now this arbitrariness falls into oblivion. The Israeli soldiers, sending to a fight scorching heat, nobody asks about religion or an origin but after they were lost for the country, start inspecting them on "heterogeneity". It doesn't go in! From now on, regardless of an origin, our soldiers will be interred on the Jewish cemeteries. On the general site and in a general series. The corresponding point is stated in the charter of the Ministry of Defence, and we will check as far as it is observed.

— You are also the official representative in the Knesset of the Israeli athletes...

— They think that I am the minister of sports that I can do everything. I try to explain that it not so. Limor Livnat (the Minister of Culture and sports of Israel — an editor's note) has to carry out monetary reforms in sports, but certifies Lapid's their financial department. With it I was lucky. It was succeeded to beat out annual budgetary injections — on 30 million shekels. Such money our sports yet watch!

— It after all only bill? It have to carry out, approve, accept still?

— Already! From this month payments begin. I beat out one million more shekels for salaries and grants of athletes. Those who got a grant 2,5 thousand shekels, will receive now on 5-6 thousand, and the salary will grow with 5 to 8,5 thousand. Payment is caused by category of the athlete. I perfectly understand, as it isn't enough this money, but not to compare to that was earlier.

— For what specifically these millions are planned to spend the purposes?

— For work with youth. Today in Israel 70 thousand athletes are registered — it is less than one percent from all population. In the normal countries this indicator makes about ten percent, as provides them a good result at competitions. Million tranches will be transferred to sports federations with a specific goal — strengthenings of existing youth teams and creation new, attraction to already existing number of 50 000 more athletes.

— And for support and motivation of trainers that is provided?

— The ministry of sports starts the 40 trainers of the national team program. The professionals involved in it will receive the excellent salary comparable to the European. Generally it is our, Russian-speaking experts. The electric company — state enterprise which will participate in employment of athletes and trainers after the end of their career. The pilot version of this project is already started, the list is made of ten Olympians and paraolympians who will participate in it. One more initiative — speech of athletes with lectures at schools. The tariff of one such lecture will make 600-700 shekels — a quite good increase to a salary if to carry out them at least once a week.

— Tell that managed to achieve your party lately? Lapid's many decisions cause sharp criticism in society...

— We assumed distribution of finance, having accepted the ministry of [finance] with milliard losses. Forcedly lowered grants, undertook a number of unpopular measures to stabilize a situation. It is clear that the criticism is distributed.

Rarely we constructed the government without orthodox parties by means of which on religious education conveyors with budget money merged. Now it isn't present. Equality in distribution of civil duties — our initiative. 64 years nobody could achieve conscription for religious sector. The purpose — to acquaint them to society life, instead of to force to be at war. How they can find a job if from the first class learn only the Torah, ignoring general education disciplines? Now there will be no educational institutions financed by the state where there are no general subjects. All have to learn mathematics, physics, geography. You want the budgetary financing — you study. It is a question of initial classes of schools. To the Yeshibahs which pupils aren't called up for military service, we cut off twice the estimate — 500 million shekels at once emerged in the budget. 4,5 thousand pupils of Yeshibahs left the educational institutions. What means "left"? Went to find a job, survive in new conditions.

In July we will organize on the periphery free summer school camp for the first and second classes, and in the country center — for the minimum payment. Earlier they cost to parents 2000-2500 shekels. Besides, we put clock according to the European standard, despite resistance of religious circles, and after all it, in fact, the economic measure which allows to cut down expenses and to fill treasury.

— On Lapid confer responsibility for unreasonably high prices for apartments. Here just by radio in detail this problem discussed...

— I have no apartment.

— How isn't present?

— So not. I rent apartment. In Netanya. And that to buy it, it is necessary to have in bank of 500 thousand. I don't have them. I since the childhood on building worked all summer with the father, synagogues of soaps, classes washed, in McDonald's worked as the seller, conducted judo sections... I mastered all possible professions of general workers. The athlete, the judoist — 2500 shekels a salary. My father still works at building, with two higher academic educations. Rises in 4.45 mornings and with hammers and nails goes on object. Russian Aaliyah …
