Admirers of free-style wrestling of 1997-98 of the birth gathered in the Kherson Highest School of Physical Culture (KHSPC). They took part in the traditional All-Ukrainian tournament "Our Hopes".

On two wrestling mats left 201 athletes 22 teams. They represented the cities of Odessa, Simferopol, Truskavets, Nikolaev, Southern, White Church, Brovara, Krivoi Rog and other corners of Ukraine. There arrived even some wrestlers from Kishinev. And prize-winners and champions of Ukraine of this age showed the skill. And even World Cups and Europe. Was among applicants for awards and pupils of the Kherson school of wrestling much.

– This tournament has long traditions. It was carried out since the Soviet Union. But then I stopped existence. These competitions give the chance to our pupils to get invaluable competitive experience. After all you won't carry many people to other cities.

– And here each athlete from Kherson and area has an opportunity to check the level of preparation. And to trainers is to that to learn at the colleagues, – the judge of the international category Valery Izdebsky who was many years the chief judge of these competitions told and prepared tournament.

Pupils of the highest school of physical culture and other representatives of our area managed to win eight weight categories. And still to win 10 of the second and 9 – the third places.

Pupils of school of physical culture Violetta Petjurenco (52 kg) and Yulia Lisovskaya (65 kg) became winners at girls a hersonka Anastasia Malinovskaya (in weight category of 40 kg), Irina Pasichnik (70 kg) from Big Aleksandrovka.

At young men the first places were won too by pupils of HVUFK Vasily Stanchev (50 kg), Eric Arushanyan (54 kg), Alexander Bogdanov (69 kg) and Vlad Soldatkin (76 kg).

All prize-winners received medals and diplomas, and winners – also valuable presents – a watch.
