This traditional international tournament on three styles of wrestling which will take place for the 26th time, is devoted to memory of outstanding American wrestler who has tragicly lost in 1996, the Olympic champion and the world champion Dave Schultz.

The structure of a Russian team which is headed by the trainer of national team Hristaki Aleksandridi, included seven wrestlers: Tuvinian Omak Syuryun (57 kg), Buryat Alexander Bogomoyev (61 kg), Dagestani Alibeggadzhi Emeev (65 — 70 kg, Dagestan) and Ossetian wrestlers Boris Makoyev (74 kg), Vladislav Gabarayev (86 kg), Batraz Gazzayev (97 — 125 kg) and Georgy Gogayev (97 — 125 kg).

On Dave Schultz's last year's memorial Russians won two gold medals. Dagestani Mahomed Kurbanaliyev (66 kg) and the Ossetian wrestler Atsamaz Sanakoyev (74 kg) received them.
