The National Olympic Committee continues preparation for the All-Ukrainian ceremony "Heroes of sports year".

At the end of 2013 poll of representatives of mass media of Ukraine concerning definition of the best of the best in the sports expiring year came to the end. Within three weeks about 350 representatives of national and regional mass media took part in vote, having expressed the opinion on winners of a ceremony.

Following the results of all journalistic questionnaires the three of the applicants who have got the maximum number of votes are created.

Owners of a sports Oscar by ballot will be chosen by the Ukrainian Academy of Sports created in 2007 at the initiative of the president of National Olympic Committee of Sergey Bubka and in which the legendary athletes who have finished vigorous sports activity entered and left an outstanding trace in the Olympic history.

Also "academicians" will define winners in the nominations "The Best Team on Game Sports" and "Sports Glory of Ukraine" and who becomes the owner of a sports Oscar in the nomination "National Choice" it becomes known following the results of interactive vote which will take place on the official site of NOC of Ukraine and in groups "NOC of Ukraine / Olympic Team" on social networks.

All country recognizes the "Heroes of sports year" directly already during a ceremony which is planned for March-April.

Ibrahim Aldatov - the world champion 2013 and the bronze prize-winner of the European championship 2013 on free-style wrestling (84 kg);

Bogdan Bondarenko - the world champion and Europe on track and field athletics (high jumps);

Nikolay Butsenko - the bronze prize-winner of the World Cup, the silver prize-winner of the European championship on boxing (56 kg);
