The All-Russian tournament on free-style wrestling on prizes of the Hero of Russia, the lieutenant general Nikolay Gavrilov came to the end with a victory of the Chuvash athletes.

From December 17 to December 18 I passed the next 9th tournament in sport center of ChGU on prizes of our glorified fellow countryman. This year it was devoted to the 55 anniversary since the birth of Nikolay Fedorovich and brought together more than 200 masters of wrestling of freestyle from many regions of Russia. Traditionally strong team was sent by the Republic of Dagestan which has taken the third place in all-team tournament. The whole scattering of awards was taken away home by team of Moscow (sports club of the quadruple world champion Sergey Kornilayev), but as a result remained only the second. To prevent Muscovites to win in the overall ranking owners – the Chuvash wrestlers managed. Many our athletes ascended to the podium in various weight categories.

To show spectacular wrestling of athletes inspired visit on tournament of the Head of Chuvashia Mikhail Ignatyev. He welcomed participants of competitions and noted that Nikolay Gavrilov puts all the energy in education in young men and girls of feeling of patriotism, pride of the country in which they grow worthy citizens. The head of the republic wished participants of success in sports and in life and noted that free-style wrestling builds up character, cultivates the will to win, courage, courage and confidence, helps to overcome vital difficulties.

Certainly, athletes and fans were excited by one question: what eminent guests will decorate Cheboksary tournament by the presence? Personally to look at fascinating wrestling and our glorified athletes, such as Olympic champions - the President of Federation of wrestling of Russia, the Honoured Master of Sports, the Honored trainer of the USSR and Russia Mikhail Mamiashvili and Hadzhimurad Magomedov, the champion of Europe and the USSR, the honored trainer of Russia Dzhambolat Tedeev, the quadruple world champion Sergey Kornilayev. Among guests of honor it was possible to see the general, the chairman of the society "Dynamo" of Vladimir Pronichev, the Hero of Russia Yury Nedviga and other eminent persons.

By the way, recently noted anniversary Mikhail Mamiashvili received from hands of the President of Federation of free-style wrestling of ChR Alexey Lapshin a memorable prize - a shirt with the Chuvash ornament, and from Mikhail Ignatyev – hours with the Chuvash symbolics. And as it was pleasant to winners and prize-winners to win prizes and awards from hands of the glorified athletes!

In an all-command moneybox most of all points brought young men. In weight category to 42 kg the native of the Kanashsky area, nowadays the pupil of Cheboksary UOR Sergey Albutov won a victory over the team mate Dmitry Alekseev from Krasnoarmeisky district. Completely Chuvash there was a final and in weight category of 46 kg at young men. The pupil of Red Army school of wrestling Vasily Nikitin was stronger than the companion Andrey Isayev. Owners of a carpet Stepan Filippov (50 kg), Vladimir Grigoryev (54 kg) and Abdusator Rakhimov (58 kg) were content with the second place in the weight categories. "Gold" in weight category of 63 kg was won by the representative of SDYuSShOR No. 5 Alexander Ulyanov.

The following, anniversary 10th tournament will take place on the basis of a new track and field athletics arena in Novocheboksarsk.
