The national federation of wrestling of Georgia replaced 6-month disqualification to members of the national team on free-style wrestling – the acting champion of Europe David Marsagishvili (84 kg) and Jacob Makarashvili (74 kg) – suspended sentence.

Let's remind that the president of federation Luka Kurtanidze made the statement for disqualification of these wrestlers two weeks ago, having called the reason their nonprofessional approach to business because of what the national team acted on the Moscow Cup European the Nations in the weakened structure and lost in the ending.

According to the official statement, the punished wrestlers had no right to make a speech at internal and international tournaments till May, 2014, however two days ago Marsagishvili acted on the Baku Gold Grand Prix and won a bronze medal. To understand a situation, "Msoplio Sporti" contacted the president of federation Luka Kurtanidze.

"We commuted a penalty Marsagishvili and Makarashvili and were content with only suspended sentence. We made such decision after eminent Georgian wrestlers addressed to us the petition. Cofounders of "Club of champions" Mikhail Saladze, Guram Sagaradze and Nodar Modebadze asked us, proceeding from interests of the Georgian wrestling, to refrain from the severe sanction. The vice-president of federation Bakur Gogitidze and secretary general George Lomidze joined a request. Considering it, and also the official comment of David Marsagishvili in which he declared that considers itself guilty, we made the decision, to lift from the punished wrestlers a limit on performance in tournaments. However we upheld suspended sentence and if Marsagishvili and Makarashvili break discipline even in much easy forms, their primary punishment will be doubled" – declared to Kurtanidze.

The president of federation also told us that this question after all will be considered at presidium meeting on December 18 and in the same place the special disciplinary committee fast response to similar violations will be which function will be approved.

"The disciplinary commission functioned and before, but only on paper. In the next future it becomes more business and capable. Without discipline it is impossible to move forward" – I added Kurtanidze.
