The Ukrainian wrestlers excellent performed at the World Cup among veterans

Sports movement among veterans gains the increasing popularity. In recent years in the world sports competitions of various level began to be held: open championships of the countries, European championships and World, European and World sports of veterans. The question of carrying out Olympic Games of veterans is already studied.

Unfortunately, the Ukrainian veterans on free-style wrestling were almost discharged of this movement for various reasons. In the same time, representatives of the Greek-Roman style actively took part in competitions of various level: Championships and Cups of Ukraine, Open Championships of the USA, Poland and Russia, World Cups. On a level of development of sports movement among veterans of Greco-Roman wrestling Ukraine is one of leaders in the world. It was confirmed in the World Cup this year which passed from October 1 to October 6 to Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). The national team of Ukraine won the second command place from 33 countries of the world, won 6 first places, 5 - the second and 3 - the third.

For improvement of a condition of development of sports movement among veterans the Association of wrestling of Ukraine this year entered the commission on sports of veterans into the structure and set for it a problem of a full development of this direction. Carrying out set for the commission of veterans tasks, from next year the calendar of sports and mass actions of Association will include competitions to participation of veterans to free-style wrestling the Championship of Ukraine, the Cup of Ukraine, the World Cup, the Open Championship of the USA. Since 2014 all athletes - veterans on free-style wrestling who plan to participate in the international competitions across Ukraine, will have to participate in the Championship and a country Cup.

At these competitions as a part of a national team accepted uchastiyegeorgy Manucharyan from Kharkov, Arthur Arutyunyan from Zaporozhye, Ivan Papushenko from Odessa, Mikhail Nilipyuk from Lutsk, Igor Korolkov from Cherkass, Vladimir Ogloblin from Krivoi Rog, Peter Antonchuk from Lugansk, Sergey Ratushnyak with Vinnytskaia and Soslan Adirkhayev from Kiev. All members of a national team acted successfully and the places, the one second and the three third places won the three first.

Winners in the divisions and weight categories of steel:  George Manucharyan (Kg division E, 130), Sergey Ratushnyak (A division - And, 76 kg),Soslan Adirkhayev (A kg division D, 76).  The second place was taken by Mikhail Nilipyuk (A kg division D, 63).  The third places won Peter Antonchuk (A division G, 130 kg), Igor Korolkov (A division F, 69 kg) and Vladimir Ogloblin (A division C, 97 kg).  Only last year's world champion Arthur Arutyunyan, unfortunately, remained without an award, lost to two Russian athletes
