On Saturday, October 12, in Botlikh started the IV tournament on free-style wrestling on prizes of Yusup Abdusalamov.

In the first day awards in three weights — to 55, 74 and 120 kg were played. Dispute for medals and valuable prizes 70 wrestlers moved. As expected, the category to 74 kg in which on a game there was a Grant Lada car appeared the most numerous. For the principal prize 44 athletes fought. From them on achievements of all the double prize-winner of the championship of Russia, the winner of two previous tournaments in Botlikh Gadzhi Gadzhiev and the 14-fold champion of Poland, the bronze prize-winner of the European championship-2006 Christian Brzozovski who could be ranked as the main favourites exceeded. In lists of participants five-six more names which also it was possible to consider as applicants for a car appeared. One of them — the winner of the Kiev international tournament Ahmed Gadzhimagomedov. This wrestler possesses good potential, but not always appears stablly, however this time he fully showed all the best qualities. The pupil of Khasavyurt UOR carried out six fights, in the first three achieved early victories, and in three others benefited with the identical score 6:2. And among prostrate the bronze prize-winner of national championship-2012 Kamal Malikov and that Gadzhi Gadzhiev who before more than once stole a march on Gadzhimagomedov appeared them wrestlers.

In the consolatory ending Gadzhiev overcame Malikov and took the third place, and other favourite — the Pole Brzozovsky — to a pedestal didn't hold on, at first having lost to the silver prize-winner of tournament Hetagu Tsabolov from Alania, and then in a duel for "bronze" — to native of Makhachkala Yakubu Shikhdzhamalov.

In heavy category the finalist of youth superiority of the country Edward Kodolayev took priority. Participants in this weight was a little — only ten, and the junior from Alania carried out three fights, in each of which it had to overcome the persistent resistance of rivals. On a pedestal in this weight there was no ex-champion of Europe, the winner of last year's tournament in Botlikh Ali Isayev, and it was one of the principal surprises of the first day. The native of Makhachkala appearing for Azerbaijan, unexpectedly conceded with the score 1:2 to the heavyweight from Kabardino-Balkaria to Islam Shavayeva and on it his performance on tournament ended.

Before decisive fights ceremony of opening of tournament took place. On it the welcome telegram from the president of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov to participants, guests and personally Yusup Abdusalamov was read. The head of the republic and the wrestler, whose name wears tournament, old personal acquaintance connects. When Abdulatipov served as the ambassador in Tajikistan, Abdusalamov appeared for this country, having brought it silver medals of Olympic Games and the World Cup. From the president of RD nominal hours were handed over to Yusup and the guest from Poland, the vice-president of Federation of wrestling of this country Arthur Orgad. Last, in turn, I presented Abdusalamova a souvenir plate.

During opening ceremony memorable gifts were handed over also to bronze prize-winners of the recent World Cup in Budapest to Rasheed Kurbanov and Ali Shabanov, and also other guests of honor of tournament.
