Free-style wrestling - a priority sport for area which is presented in Zhitomir area by an extensive network of offices of sports schools. On free-style wrestling the area has the silver Olympic award received in 2012 on the London Olympic Games by Valery Andriytsev. The example of the world famous fellow countryman inspires other children to be engaged in this sport, and thanks to realization in the field of social initiatives of the President of Ukraine concerning support of sports branch, opportunities for this purpose constantly grow.

For today each championship of area the sharp collects hundreds athletes from the different cities and areas and the competition all weight categories always.

Especially, when on a carpet pupils of the senior groups of sports schools - leaders not only regional, but also the All-Ukrainian rating meet.

Exactly so was in Berdichev where on the basis of a sports complex 26-й artillery crew the free-style wrestling championship of Zhitomir area among youth till 22 years on September 21, 2013 is held.

National teams of the cities of Berdichev, Korostenya, Malines, Novograd - Volynsk, Olevsky, Andrushevsky, Radomyshlsky, Novograd-Volynsky, Korostensky areas participated in the regional championship.

This championship was very important and responsible for athletes and trainers, after all by its results were determined not only winners and prize-winners, and and members of a national team of area for at part in the championship of Ukraine which in October will take place in Kiev.

The judicial crew was headed by the senior trainer of Berdichev Victor Russian. His pupils played the ending in the category to 120 kg: Ernest Mardoyants received the first place, Dmitry Vasilevsky - the second.
