Irina Merleni and Elbrus Tedeev in a hall of Glory of world wrestling!

Yesterday during the World Cup in Budapest the Hall of wrestling glory of FILA was filled up by ten new names. "In the tenth anniversary of the Hall of Glory of FILA we want to pay a tribute to those people, whose outstanding heritage deserves to be immortalized. " - the president of the International Federation Nenad Lalovich commented.

Among outstanding athletes of the present names at once two Ukrainian Olympic champions – Irina Mereni and Elbrus Tedeev!

Ukraine is proud of the heroes! Irina became not only the first Ukrainian subdued the Olympic pedestal, but also the first Olympic champion in the history of female wrestling! And Elbrus Tedeev heading Association of wrestling of Ukraine, was the first athlete of independent Ukraine who won World Cup and Olympic Games gold.

This year for "yellow-blue" team the World Cup was very successful. Our wrestlers won two gold medals, one silver and bronze. Therefore fans of a sport with optimism look forward, after all behind shoulders of our legendary wrestlers there is a new generation ready to continue champion traditions.
