The titled Ossetian wrestler will act for the first time as a part of Russian national team in heavy weight.

Hadzhimurad Gatsalov debuted as a part of a national team on the World Cup in 2002. Then he acted in weight to 84 kg, and since the next season and till this moment fought among "polutyazhy". In this category the Ossetian athlete achieved impressive achievements, most considerable of which — victories on Olympic Games in Athens and four World Cups.

But recently Gatsalov acts not so successfully as before, here and in the last national championship he didn't manage to win the permit on the World Cup. However it nevertheless will take part in these competitions, but in other category — to 120 kg. Trainers of the national team turned the look on the veteran after failure on University games in Kazan his fellow countryman Alan Khugayev.

In 2008 he won in Moscow tournament in "absolyutka", and in the ending overcame Bilyal Makhova. Probably, in a trainer's staff of the national team, staking on Gatsalov, considered also this fact from its biography. The choice for the Ossetian athlete could be considered optimum if there was no Abdusalam Gadisova who, according to many experts, would have more chances of success in Budapest.

And Gatsalov's what chances? If really to see things, it can apply for a prize-winning place, but hardly — for a champion title. It would be desirable to be mistaken, of course, but looking at how recently Turk Taha Akgul and Georgian Geno Petriashvili powerfully act, hardly it is represented that they will concede somebody "gold". Russian "полутяжу" some more wrestlers among whom follow are capable to make the competition to allocate the Ossetian legionary of the national team of Ukraine Alain Zasev playing for Azerbaijan of Dagestani Dzhamaludin Magomedov, the same American Tervel Dlagnev, and also the representative of Iran.

But here pertinently to remember one more remarkable fact from Gatsalov's biography. In 2003 in Russian national team there was a need urgently to replace at the fault light heavyweight who was preparing for the European championship. Decided to expose Gatsalov who was acting at that time is one category lower. Then very few people put on a victory of unexperienced "not makeweight", however the debutant of the championship surprised all, requisitions of all the rivals. So, maybe, and this time we are waited by a pleasant surprise? Everything can be, so far as concerns such expert of wrestling, as Hadzhimurad Gatsalov.
