From June 28 to June 30 in Kalmykia (Elista) passed the free-style wrestling championship of Russia among veterans of sports on the Cup of the Governor of Kalmykia, the President of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumzhinov

On action there was a vice-president of Federation of wrestling of Russia Alikhan Hasiyev, the head of Federation of free-style wrestling of Russia Shamil Nevretdinov, the senior trainer of a national team of veterans of Russia Boris Siukayev and many others.  The triple world champion, the Olympic champion among veterans Mahomed Badrutdinov opened action.

In the championship among the Dagestan team in weight category 69 kg. the candidate for the master of sports on free-style wrestling, the honored worker of physical culture of RD, the trainer of Akhtynsky DYuSSh No. 1 Ashuraliyev Karib Ferzaliyevich (He is the cousin of the double world champion, the Olympic prize-winner Ruslan Ashuraliyev), who won first place took part. This victory became for it a selection stage for participation in the World Cup which will take place on September 30 in Croatia.

Following the results of tournament, the all-command first place was taken by the national team of the Dagestan master veterans who managed to win ten medals of the highest test. So, as a part of the Dagestan team champions became: Ruslan Adziyev (63 kg), Rasoul Nurgadzhiyev (63 kg), Rasoul Magomedkhanov (63 kg), Victor Tchertkov (63 kg), Carib Ashuraliyev (69 kg), Adzi Dzhaliyev (76 kg), Mahomed Badrutdinov (captain  76 kg), Abdulmalik Alidibirov (85 kg), Gamzat Israpilov (85 kg), Abdullah Atashev (97 kg), Akhmadulla Abdulkhalikov (120 kg). All winners of tournament were awarded by medals, diplomas and monetary prizes.

On arrival on the native earth we met Carib Ashuraliyev.

- "My sports life began 1962 more when I visited for the first time in Akhtakh a gym", - the veteran of sports tells. "Under the leadership of the first master of sports of the USSR on free-style wrestling in Dagestan Abdulali Ganiyev and the trainer of the Nadir Eskenderova acquired equipment and skill of this sport. Diligent trainings and desire to show the skills bore fruit. Soon in the championship of the republic which was taking place in the city of Makhachkala among young men in the area of FC "Urozhay",  won first place. And in a sports contest of the people of Dagestan with participation of the national team of a crop of Makhachkala in weight category 57 kg. - 3rd place. In 1972 – 73 years successfully I spoke at the international tournament of a name of glorified wrestler Ali Aliyev. Being the soldier of the Soviet army as a part of group of the Soviet armies in Germany actively I participated at competitions in which always I took prizes.

- Tell about the forthcoming competitions of world level at which you should take part.

- On September 30 in Croatia the World Cup among trainers of Dagestan will take place. As competitions promise to be hard, at the moment we diligent prepare for them. How to be told, eat still gunpowder in powder flasks. Let's hope that skill, sports spirit and good luck remain on our party, and we will win the next victory.
