In the championship of Europe by wrestling finishing recently in Tbilisi Ukrainian Alina Stadnik-Makhinya won a gold medal, and Yana Stadnik representing Great Britain — silver.

In the capital of Georgia there could be couple more of medallists with such surname, but world champion Maria Stadnik who plays for Azerbaijan, has to become soon for the second time a mother, and her husband Andrey who has got for our country a silver Olympic medal in 2008 in Beijing, took a small break in career. What here you will tell? In world practice of examples of such family wrestling contract we won't remember.

— In a family at us was five children — Andrey Stadnik tells to "Look". — Big brother Volodya too fought, was the winner of University games and the prize-winner of youth superiority of Ukraine. Sister Alla became the prize-winner of national championship. One more sister, Yana, as a part of the national team of Great Britain reached an European championship pedestal. And younger brother Roma — the husband of Alina Stadnik-Makhini who in Tbilisi became the champion of the continent. My highest achievement — Olympic Games "silver". And the most titled in our family circle — my wife Maria. She is world champion and the double prize-winner of Olympic Games.

How it turned out, what Maria and Yana bring sports glory to Azerbaijan and Great Britain, instead of native land?

— In Ukraine I was to nobody necessary — Maria Stadnik tells. — In my weight Olympic champion Irina Merleni fought, and the trainer's staff of the national team unambiguously let to me know that in my services isn't strongly interested. It was offensive: I considered myself not weaker than Irina. To me it was necessary either to finish career, or to wait while Merleni won't finish the performances. Or to replace nationality and to play for other country. And me the serious offer just came from Azerbaijan which I accepted.

The error of our trainer's staff of the national team was confirmed by a semi-final of the Olympic tournament in London when to a carpet there was "Azerbaijanian" Stadnik and Ukrainian Merleni. In the ending passed Stadnik.

Yana Stadnik was also compelled to continue the wrestling career abroad. As a result the perspective Ukrainian — the champion of Europe among cadets, and then and among juniors — invited to Great Britain. There Yana found also the personal happiness: I married the fighter of a local Olympic team of Leon Rattigan. Now Yana lives in Manchester and to Ukraine comes not often, but the melancholy for the house gnaws.

— We lived in Vinkovtsa's village of Hmelnitsky area — Yana remembers. — Five children, sometimes money didn't suffice on bread: I remember, parents bought it according to any coupons. We had a big economy and a kitchen garden at which I so didn't like to work. Candies on a table lay only on big holidays. But always there was a honey, the father held an apiary. And I never will forget taste of pies which were baked by mother.
