Day the third. Without medals, but in leaders
On Sunday, in day of Defenders of the Fatherland, the Russian judoists didn't please fans with awards in Germany. Sergey Samoylovich who has taken the fifth place in category of 100 kg was the best of ours.
Less than in a minute Sergey with the Spaniard San Martin Karrera in the first meeting finished, but in the second fight couldn't overcome the world champion from Kazakhstan Rakov and left fight for gold. In group of a consolation Samoylovich was better than the athlete Remarenko submitting to the United Arab Emirates, but in a decisive duel for bronze conceded to the Olympic champion from Mongolia Naidang and remained without award, the fifth.
The second participant of the national team in this weight - David Bitiyev suffered defeat in the first circle from Brazilian Buzakarini and any more wasn't consoled.
Yury Panasenkov (90) in the second circle lost to the Frenchman to Buffa, and Kirill of Questions (90) in the main grid couldn't cope with Japanese Nishiyama, and in group of a consolation didn't break through further the first meeting where lost to Georgian Gogochuri. Result - the 7th place.
Supertyazhi Mikhaylin and Stepan Sargsyan conceded in the first meeting according to Japanese Harasava and Brazilian Silva and left fight.
Our athletes didn't manage to support Kuzyutina and Labazina's gold initiative in final day of tournament. Anastasia Dmitriyeva (78) on start of day lost to Chinese woman Dzhang, and Alyona Kachorovskaya in the second circle suffered defeat from Frenchwoman Chumeo. Over 78 kg Ksenia Chibisova couldn't pass German Weis in category, and Anaid Mkhitaryan in the second fight of day passed "ippon" from future winner of tournament, Japanese Tachimoto.
Nevertheless, Russians with two gold and four bronze awards reserved the second line in the medal protocol. The team of Japan (6-2-4) became the best national team in Düsseldorf.
The first March days off will be given to open European cups in Prague and Warsaw.
