Ballot the president of Deaflympic committee of Russia and the All-Russian federation of oriental martial arts of deafs Valery Rukhledev was elected the president of the International committee of sports of deafs.

To each applicant it was given for three minutes on performance. Valery Rukhledev stated the main theses of the election program. In particular, he intends to give special attention to development of children's sports, after all the future of Deaflympic movement depends on it. And also to strengthen relations about the IOC – the International Olympic committee. The important lever of protection of the rights deaf of occupations by physical culture and sports is the Convention of the UN on the rights of disabled people, and it is necessary to use it fully.

The first round of vote didn't reveal the winner. Craig Crowley (Great Britain) collected 34 votes, Valery Rukhledev – 32, Joel Barish (USA) – 8. It became disturbing. It was difficult to assume that those who supported the American, will vote to Russian. But and it happened in the second round. The president of SKR was given the voices of 39 delegates of the 44th Congress of the International committee of sports of deafs. The Englishman has 33 voices (one of his supporters damaged the bulletin). One bulletin completed with the supporter of Barish, too wasn't included, but seven "American" voices it appeared enough for a victory of our candidate.

Valery Rukhledev in the first speech thanked all who believed in him and supported him, repaid a respect debt to members of Executive committee of the International committee of sports of deafs and already to the ex-president of the organization Craig Crowley. Also I assured all delegates that will use the best efforts that sports of deafs developed and I prospered.
