From 15 sports entering into the program VIII Baltic youthful sports, passing in Vyborg, judo competitions less than others caused uncertainty for their outcome.
The majority of experts considered that athletes of the Leningrad region will enter into the prize-winning three. And they entered, but not winners, and the second prize-winners. Nevertheless it is a big victory of judoists of area if to consider that the first place was taken by a junior team of Belarus which arrived to Vyborg as guests, and behind our regional team there were judoists of Germany, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Latvia, Lithuania.
Judo competitions took place in a cozy gym of the Vyborg sport school "Favorit". 80 athletes in 15 weight categories fought for a rank of the strongest in Baltiysk the region.
The national team of the Leningrad region was represented by athletes from Tosno, Vyborg, Luga, Vsevolozhsk and Sosnovyy Bor. Owners of gold awards became Grigory Krutov (66 kg, Luga), Ksenia Suntsova (40 kg, Tosno), Madina Atayev (44 kg, Vsevolozhsk), Natalia Doronin (+63 kg, Tosno). Silver medals – at Pavel Mikhaylov (46 kg, Luga), Ivan Mironov (60 kg, Tosno), Nikolay Lukoshkov (73 kg, Vyborg), Veronica Oleynikova (44 kg, Tosno), Ksenia Ivanova (52 kg, Vyborg). Bronze medallists became Kurban Gadzhiev (50 kg, Tosno), Ilya Kireev (81 kg, Tosno), Alexander Solodovich (+81 kg, Vyborg), Karina Bolotov (57 kg, Sosnovyy Bor), Xenia Surogina (63 kg, Sosnovyy Bor). As there are a lot of familiar names!
Carrying out such Games promotes development of sports not only in the 47th region, but also in all North West of Russia.
