The European championship on judo (U18) among cadets brought to Ukraine 6 medals. In Estonia the championship of Europe on judo (U18) among cadets came to the end. Competitions took place in the Tallinn sports complex "Saku Suurhall". Ukraine was represented by 15 participants who brought in a moneybox of the national team of 6 medals. In total 400 judoists took part in tournament from 40 countries of the continent.
On June 21, in Estoiniya's capital - Tallinn started the judo European championship among cadets. 400 judoists took part in competition from 40 countries of the world, 1996-98 Ukraine on tournament was represented by 15 participants: 8 young men and 6 girls. Judoists showed good result and won 6 medals for Ukraine, having shown excellent skill and equipment.
The first medal of the Ukrainian national team was brought by 16-year-old inhabitant of Kiev Bogdan Yadov (60 kg). Anna Kashtanovoy and Vitaly Samotuga's ward bypassed almost all the rivals and occupied the second step of a podium, having conceded in final fight to the judoist from Azeybarzhdan Hidayatu Geydarova. In a semi-final Bogdan coped with the rival from Russia Alexander Kulikovskikh for record time. The Ukrainian needed only 6 seconds and a lightning throw for an exit in the ending. The silver medal became for our athlete of the first prize at competitions of the international class.
The judoist from Kiev, Julius Hramova brought to our national team the second silver medal of tournament, having won the 2nd place in category to 57 kg. Julia showed magnificent fight, having laid on a tatami of competitors from Lithuania, France, the Czech Republic and Great Britain, but having conceded in the ending to the judoist from Romania.
Prize-winning medals for the third and fifth places were received by inhabitants of Odessa Kotsoyev Zelim (90 kg. ) иДроздова Lyudmila (63 kg. ) . Judoists Artem Pliyev (66 kg. ) and Leonid Gasyuk (+90 kg. ) brought to our national team of a medal for prize-winning seventh places in the categories.
