The national team of the Arkhangelsk region took part for the first time in the Cup Barents region on judo. The composition of the national team included three residents of Severodvinsk. From competitions children brought prize-winning medals.

The composition of the combined Arkhangelsk region included three Severodvinsk children, two from them pupils of the deserved trainer of Russia Alexander Novikov is a Valeria Malzhik and Maria Koroleva, and the pupil of trainer Victoria Klimantova from DYuSSh-2 Ilya Kononov. Competitions took place in the Norwegian city of Buda. Valeria Malzhik was the most young participant, however she already three times became the winner of superiority of the North West of the country. Competitors to 28 kg weren't in its weight category therefore Valeria had to compete with boys. Despite it, it benefited all four fights and won a gold medal. 16-year-old Ilya Kononov in an age category till 18 years became a winner twice. In the ending in age group till 21 year Kononov lost to the fellow countryman from combined area and became the silver prize-winner of competitions. 15-year-old Maria Korolyova, appearing in age groups till 18 years and till 21 year, I became the bronze prize-winner twice.
