At the beginning of April in the agrotown New Guta traditionally pass the international judo competitions under the name "Way to the Olympus".

Feature passed in the past weekend days (05-06.04.2013) tournaments became that it was carried out on prizes of the deserved master of sports of Republic of Belarus, the pupil of sports school of the Gomel area Sergey Shundikov.
— Way from Tashkent in New Guta remote and expensive. Who helps you with financial questions?
— We, unfortunately, have no sponsors. All expenses connected with journey, accommodation, a food of children, parents pay them.
Sponsors of tournament on judo "A way to the Olympus" traditionally are RUP "Gomelyenergo" and KZhUP "Gomel Rayzhilkomkhoz". Among organizers, besides sports school of the Gomel area — management of physical culture of sports and tourism of the Gomel regional executive committee, the Gomel district executive committee. Public association "Belarusian Federation of Judo" founded two special prizes: "For the will to win" and "For the best equipment".
Parting words to participants of tournament were stated also by Sergey Shundikov to whom it was succeeded to talk before duels.
— Whether you feel yourself a real star here? Children don't get, don't point a finger, speaking, here Shundikov went? .
— What council could give to young masters of judo?
— I would like to wish to children, first of all, health that they had less traumas and bruises. Not all will rise today by a pedestal, but that who will make it, I wish new victories on a tatami. And to the rests I advise not to be upset and to train even more. The persistence and work by all means will bear fruit.
Prizes from hands of the deserved master of sports of Sergey Shundikov were won by winners of competitions Alexander Repikov (weight category — to 30 kg, Nova Guta, the trainer — Alexander Kozel) and Yury Osipov (to 38 kg, Bobovichi, Maxim Chepurnykh). Ivan Fedorenko became the silver prize-winner of tournament (to 46 kg, Uritsky, Vladimir Khudyakov), Zakhar Kozel got bronze awards (to 34 kg, New Guta, Alexander Kozel), to Stas Polivach (to 38 kg, Uritsky, Vladimir Khudyakov), to Daniel Kononenko (to 55 kg, Nova Guta, Victor Plisko), to Egor Meytin and Vladislav Timashkov (both is to 66 kg, Lopatino, Igor Mokhorev).
Winners of the Way to the Olympus tournament in Nova Guta, besides Repikov and Osipov, became: Ivan Yuryev (to 34 kg), Vladimir Zhupikov (to 42 kg, both is Orsha), Egor Trukhan (to 46 kg, SK "Gomselmash"), Vladislav Lokhach (to 50 kg, Smorgon), Pavel Gerasimenko (to 55 kg, Novozybkov), Vladimir Shirkevich (to 60 kg, Orsha), Svyatoslav Antonenko (to 66 kg, SK "Gomselmash") and Rostislav Abramtsev (over 66 kg, TsOR Gomel).
