Team competitions in judo become more and more popular in Ukraine. It completely corresponds to world tendencies. After all the International Olympic Committee plans to include spectacular team competitions in the "wall on a wall" format in the program of Olympic Games.

Dnepropetrovsk too holds the team competitions. The second year in a row there passes Children's league of judo.

The Dnepropetrovsk city federation of judo became the official organizer of tournament in the current season. The first stage of competitions took place on March 16 in a gym of sports school No. 6. Competitions collected 5 teams in two age groups-2000-2001 and 2002-2003 of of the birth. In total during the day отборолись about 100 young Dnepropetrovsk athletes.

- Today we hold 3 rounds of Children's league of the judo, during the day each team will carry out on two-three meetings, depending on a calendar, – told UkrainejudoCOM the organizer of tournament, the executive director of the Dnepropetrovsk city federation of judo Grigory Korol. - In the current season we collected 5 strongest local children's teams - two present to No. 6 sports school, on one sports club "Dzyudo-Dnepr", KDYuSSh "Meteor", also will try to protect the title the last year's winner of Children's league of judo of "Taifu Junior". Children are engaged in judo for 3-4 years, for last year they became more senior and certainly show more substantial fight in the tactical, technical and psychological plan. Team competitions are characteristic that is frequent children not absolutely well acting in personal tournaments, show character miracles in competitions "a wall on a wall" and bring points to the team.

As for intermediate results, after the first competitive day in leaders the Judo Dnepr teams (3 victories in 3 meetings) and "Taifu Junior" (2 victories in 2 meetings) were beaten out. The winner of the Dnepropetrovsk Children's league of judo will be defined during the second competitive day on April 27.

Let's remind that in Ukraine Kharkov and Donetsk can brag of similar children's starts. Also within a national calendar of judo, since last year, passes youthful team tournament of memory of the Deserved trainer of Ukraine Alexander Prosovskogo. It carry out in Kiev.
