Yesterday in a gym of DYuSSh of the New Lak area passed open regional championship in judo among young men.

As reported RIA "Dagestan" in the municipality press service, 5 teams took part in competitions - 115 athletes from the cities and areas of the Republic of Dagestan.

Opening competitions, the deputy head of MO "New Lak Area" G. Musaev noted that in Dagestan different types of combat sport, including in the New Lak area develop. In these types the new Lak athletes achieve more and more noticeable successes, in various competitions on the importance. He also congratulated athletes on opening of tournament and wished successes on a tatami.

The director of DYuSSh S. Alimov told that though tournament was planned as regional, judging by number of the cities presented by participants and regions, it can be considered zone. He also noted that the smallest judoists who came for the first time for competition participate in tournament also, and wished them successes.

The purposes and problems of these competitions were identification of the strongest athletes for participation in republican tournaments; increase of sports skill of athletes; promoting and judo promotion in the area; accumulation and improvement of competitive experience and strengthening of friendly relations with sections, clubs, schools of judo of the cities of the republic and areas, younger generation education in the spirit of patriotism.
