5 awards were won by the Ukrainian judoists cadets on the first in the current season Cup of Europe

Tournament took place on March 9 and 10 in the Croatian Zagreb, 582 athletes took part in it from 29 countries of our continent.

In the first day Ukrainians collected a complete set of awards - bronze medals won Christian Badzo (66 kg, Uzhgorod) and Valentina Shmal (Volynsk regional), in the asset added silver inhabitant of Kiev Yaroslav Skopnenko (55 kg), the champion of the Cup of Europe became one more capital wrestler Bogdan Yadov. And, Bogdan achieves the third year in a row success on the Croatian tatamis. In 2011 he became the owner of gold of a cadet Cup of Europe in Zagreb in the weight of 50 kg, in the past season became the bronze prize-winner in weight category of 55 kg, and this year showed the maximum "gold" result in the weight of 60 kg.



The second day of a continental Cup became successful for one Ukrainian - in the weight of +90 kg with silver finished tournament inhabitant of Kiev Leonid Gasyuk.

In medal offset Ukraine finished on the Cup of Europe of U18 in Zagreb on the sixth place with 1 gold, 2 silver 2 bronze awards, and also Grachik Avagyan's fifth place (81 kg, Dnepropetrovsk) and the seventh Oleg Ovcharenko (50 kg, Lviv).

Slovenia which athletes won most gold medals-3 (3-2-4-2-3) became the best team of tournament.

Let's remind that the Cup of Europe in Zagreb became the first international qualifying tournament for the cadet national team of Ukraine. In the current season our national team in age group U18 should take part at once in three official starts - the June European championship in Tallinn, a July European Youth Olympic Festival in Utrecht and the August World Cup in Miami.

This month for cadets three more continental Cups - in the Turkish Antalia, the Spanish Fuendzhirolya and the Ukrainian Kiev will take place. Let's note that the capital of our country will accept top level tournament. It will take place on March 30 and 31.
