Dmitry Petrovitch's name always mention when speak about Roman Dmitriev, Pavel Pinigin, Alexander Ivanov and many other Yakut wrestlers. Unique achievement of the outstanding trainer — inclusion in structure of an Olympic team of the USSR of three wrestlers from Yakutia — will be never repeated. At least because the Soviet Union doesn't exist any more.

The republic adequately estimated Korkin's contribution to promoting and development of free-style wrestling. Not for nothing he is the winner of a rank of "People of the XX century of Yakutia".

A number of festive events is carried out to memory of Dmitry Korkin. Yesterday in Churapche opening of the new building of the Churapchinsky sports boarding school long ago bearing his name took place. On October 5-6 in Yakutsk, in sport center "Triumph", will pass the VI International tournament of the Grand Prix of memory of the deserved trainer of the USSR, RSFSR and YaASSR Dmitry Korkin. Structure of participants every year everything becomes more representative, guests respect Dmitry Petrovitch's memory. Many representatives of foreign teams were familiar with it and consider it as honor to arrive to Yakutia.

Korkin was not only the talented trainer, but also the real innovator. He created some exercise machines, analogs which weren't anywhere. The first president of RS(Ya) Mikhail Nikolaev left such inscription in the book of memoirs of the Churapchinsky museum of sports: "Still in those days, when there were no modern exercise machines, Korkin investigated physical opportunities of the person. Thoroughly I studied also itself I made of a tree self-made exercise machines — for development of muscles and strength of athletes. Now, looking on these the equipment, only you admire".

At the same time, Dmitry Korkin taught pupils to think and create on a carpet. So the reception called in honor of his author, one of bright pupils Dmitry Petrovitch, the champion of the USSR among Vyacheslav Karpov's young men was born. The reception which has been thought up still in the seventies of the last century, also wrestlers of the present successfully use.
