60-year-old oyakata Kitanoumi is unanimously re-elected as the president of Japanese Association of sumo for two years.
Distribution of duties between other board members is planned for April 3rd.
At the beginning of the 2014th year the Association of sumo received the status of public organization (the organization, bringing activity public benefit).
The Board of directors includes ten trainers-mentors elected at the end of January, and also the former president of Japanese public broadcasting company NHK Katsudzi Ebisava, the former head of department of special investigations of prosecutor's office of Tokyo of Norio Munakat and the prior of the Shintoistic temple of the Yasukuni Shrine Yasuhito Tokugawa who is the descendant of the last shogun Tokugawa Yosinobu.
