"After recognition on November 26, 2013 the director of Management of youth and sports of the State of Maharashtra of traditional types of wrestling and their inclusion in a school sports calendar of staff, we received a set of electronic letters, messages and phone calls from people who would like the organization of the national championship of highway Maharashtra. In connection with squeezed schedule 2013-2014 of academic year, we decided to unite these two competitions: the national championship (on January 23-24) and the staff championship (on January 25-26) that it was convenient to all athletes at the beginning of educational half-year", - is told by Tamboli.
The championship of the State of Maharashtra took place top-level with participation of 24 regional (city) teams, 483 athletes and 50 officials, and 10 states (teams of allied territories), 271 athletes and 40 officials participated in the National championship.
The championships were organized in various weight and age categories – children and young men aren't more senior 11, 14, 17, 19 years and advanced age (men and women) and passed on an indoor stadium "Rajiv Gandhi" in Solapur (the State of Maharashtra, Republic of India) under aegis "Associations of traditional types of wrestling of Solapur and areas. The hall was equipped with two wrestling mats and three scaffolds for mas-wrestling. Competitions were held by the international rules. Event was held in two styles – wrestling on belts and mas-wrestling while other styles of wrestling, such as the Kazakh koresh, hapsagay and Tatars kuresh only were shown to all present athletes.
A great job was done um by Omarmukhtar Tamboli, the secretary of National federation and the state association who assumed responsibility for all technical rules and provisions, and also for holding all championships. Big support was given also by the president of national federation and the state association Mr. Iqbal Sheikh, the secretary of action of-nbimrao Balge and the chief judge of competitions Mr. Santosh Hairnar. Action received good comments of fans of sports, the audience, politicians and guests, etc.
10 states and Association of allied territories participated in the national championship: Andkhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Dzharkhand, Karnataka, Madya Pradesh, Pudusherri, Manipur, Maharashtra and Delhi.
24 regional and municipal associations participated in the championship of the State of Maharashtra: district Akhmednazhar (Akhmednazhar), Amravati's district (of Amravati), district Aurangabad (Aurangabad), districts: Bid, Gondia, Zhalgaon, Zhalna, Kolhapur, Latur, Mumbai, districts: Mumbai Suburban, Nagpur, Nandid, Osmanabad, Parbkhani, Poona, Raygad, Sangli, Sattar, Solapur, Kalyan-Dombivali, Vardkh.
All winners of the national championships acquired the right to participate in the forthcoming championships of Asia and the world of 2014. "We are sure that the Indian team will participate at the forthcoming competitions in the maximum quantity.
Excellent work of all judges and managers of the team in competitions was done. Various national cultural programs were brought in the schedule also during opening of competitions, the break and an awards ceremony added additional high points", - he told.
Wrestling on belts and mas-wrestling which are very easily trained and are available, were included in the main part of action taking into account age and weight categories. "We hope that in the following championship other traditional styles of wrestling, such as - the Kazakh koresh, hapsagay and Tatars kuresh will be included in the main competition in the full program. Besides, we hope for big support of the international federation to Republic of India and the Asian continent", - the member of the World Committee of traditional types of wrestling of FILA, the secretary general of Federation of traditional national types of wrestling of Republic of India Tamboli Omarmukhtar noted.
