The federation wrestling on belts appeared in our republic of all a few years ago, but the North Ossetia wrestlers already managed to declare themselves, taking prizes at competitions not only All-Russian, but also the international level.

About development of this sport, former victories and the forthcoming tournaments we decided to have a talk with the President of Federation of Republic wrestling on belts Northern Ossetia-Alania the militia major general in resignation by Soslan Ivanovich Sikoyev.

- Many consider that wrestling on belts appeared in our republic in 2011, but it isn't correct, - began the story Soslan Sikoyev. Actually it occurred for two years earlier. Arthur Farvazovich Akhmetkhanov respected by me, entered to a position of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the republic on December 1, 2008. In 2009 he was elected the chairman of republican Council of "Dynamo". Then Arthur Farvazovich suggested to increase quantity of the sports provided in our sporting society, having opened section wrestling on belts. Separation on wrestling on belts was soon created, well and absolutely seriously began to be engaged in 2011 when I retired from a post of the deputy minister and headed Federation. We brought together the police officers who are engaged in different types of single combats and began to study rules and receptions of this wrestling. The first trip on the Championship of Russia which was taking place in Chelyabinsk, took place in 2011. We from there brought three silver and five bronze awards. And when experts on this type of wrestling looked at our athletes, they promised them the big future and achievement of good results.

- The North Ossetia athletes who have taken prizes on those came from what types of single combats, the first championship for us?

- At us and then and now wrestlers of freestyle, judoists and sambo wrestlers are engaged generally. Since recent time appeared and purely the "poyasnik" who weren't engaged earlier in other types of single combats.

Further our athletes started benefiting and the international tournaments. Last year in Volgograd four our athletes: Arsene Karginov, Margarita Gurtsiyeva, Albina Salbiyeva and Alan Kanteev became champions of Russia. Then they protected honor of Russia in the World Cup which has taken place in Astana. Unfortunately, Kanteeva's injury didn't allow it to win the higher title, but, nevertheless, her "silver" for us was equivalent a gold medal. World champions became Margarita Gurtsiyeva, Albina Salbiyeva who at present already is the double champion of Russia in wrestling on belts, and Arsene Karginov. We didn't stop on reached and began to select youthful frames. Last year in Ufa champions of Russia became Jahmal Batyrov and Marat Medoyev. In subsequent Medoyev won in the World Cup among young men, and Batyrs took the second place.

At the end of September I passed the Championship of Russia at us in the republic. Our girls appeared excellent: Vick Bitiyev, Milan Dudiyeva, Albina Salbiyeva became champions of Russia. Alina Pukhov for the first time appearing in this type of wrestling showed good result – won a silver award. Unfortunately, none of children didn't become a champion. Nevertheless the principal trainer's council of Russia on wrestling on belts made the decision to allow Alina Pukhovoy as to the gifted sportswoman and Soslan Chelokhsayev as the skilled wrestler to protect honor of Russia in the World Cup.

By the way, last year 18 North Ossetia wrestlers executed the standard of the master of sports, this year 17. That is the quantity of the masters grows quite fast rates.

- And we already have masters of sports of the international class?

unfortunately no. According to the rules approved by the minister of sports of Russia to become the master of sports of the international class on wrestling on belts it is necessary to benefit twice the World Cup, and requirements for men – shall participate in competitions representatives at least 35 countries, and for girls - at least 20 countries. Unfortunately to provide such representation very difficult. But you know that leading line items in this sport belong to wrestlers of Russia, in turn one of the best in our country are representatives of Karachay-Cherkessia who, by the way, won three gold medals and one bronze on university games in Kazan. This wrestling in Bashkortostan and Tatarstan is very well developed.

In the current year by results of the championship of Russia six North Ossetia athletes will participate in the World Cup. It is pleasant to realize that we entered into the first three and we stand there strong.

- Ivanovich is banished, you head Federation wrestling on belts of North Ossetia, and at the same time you are the master of sports on sambo. How you consider what of these two types of single combats is more spectacular?

- In each type of wrestling the delights. Wrestling on belts incorporated many technical elements of other types of single combats: both judo, and sambo, and manumission. I generally would compare this sport to weightlifting. In it when you quitted on a scaffold and undertook a signature stamp, it is impossible to release it already. As well at us: if the belt of the opponent released – you receive the warning, the second time released – again warning, the third – technical defeat. In this type of wrestling the athlete shall combine technique, force and speed.

The outstanding free-style wrestling coach Kazbek Dedegkayev, having looked several times at our trainings, imputed a duty to the pupils upon termination of occupations to take belts and to be engaged in this type of wrestling for solidifying of area of a waist, after all this part of a body is involved when carrying out the majority of our receptions.

- And who trains our athletes?

- In due time according to Arthur Akhmetkhanov's decision we invited trainer Alik Yakubov who showed us elements of this single combat from Bashkiria. Now Malkhaz Osadze who and appears at competitions trains athletes. We invited to it in the help of sambo wrestler Stanislav Bekmarzayevich Turiyev. The big help in preparation Anatoly Sergeyevich Tavgazov renders also, the long time living in the territory of Karachay-Cherkessia and in youth becoming the repeated champion of the Caucasus on this wrestling.

- How many the person is engaged in wrestling on belts in North Ossetia?

- More than 150 people tried the forces in this single combat. Someone leaves, someone remains. And all athletes are engaged gratuitously. We have also the youth group consisting of boys of 9-12 years.

- In what your task as principal of federation of wrestling on belts consists?

- My main objective – to organize training collections, to find the sponsor, organizationally to prepare commands for competitions, beginning from All-Russian and finishing world level. At us now the right to represent Russia was won by 11 athletes. You represent that this such – Russia will represent 11 wrestlers from small Ossetia!
