Sumoists competed in weight categories to 115 kg and in absolute category.  In tournament three Tajik athletes who combated in personal offset acted.  The structure of the Tajik team included Fotekh Mukhtorov (115 kg), Akmal Nasreddinov (85 kg) and Zoirdzhon Yorov (+115 kg). 

Within preparation for the European tournament the Tajik athletes carried out fruitful trainings and as reported SIA "VS" the Tajik master of sumo Fotekh Mukhtorov, the team set a task to win medals. Zoirdzhon Yorov won two silver medals – in the weight of +115 kg and in an absolyut. Akmal Nasreddinov (85 kg) and Fotekh Mukhtorov (115 kg) received bronze awards.
