And all this in the VIII open beach wrestling championship of Latvia in Mayori.

In the same place passed also national wrestling national championship Ej Dar organized by federation of this wrestling, La club? i and Galomet firm in the person of vice-president Alexey Kostyrev and federated members of Guido Shtykov, Victor Mikhaylov and Anton Heyfits.

Competition collected record number of participants: more than hundred athletes fought for prize-winning places. On sandy "carpet" wrestlers from Latvia, Estonia, from Ukraine and from the Russian cities — Kaliningrad, Chernyakhovsk and Moscow sorted out the relations. Athletes represented different schools of wrestling — free, Greco-Roman, pancration, sambo, judo, MMA, a grapling, a kickboxing.

The strongest came to light in four weight categories, plus on a game there was a rank of the absolute champion on Ej Dar wrestling. For example, in weight to 70 kg for medals 33 athletes fought. Our wrestler of freestyle Andrey Vasilyev from Bausky showed the most beautiful on equipment and tactics wrestling. As a result he won against all the rivals — Sergey Teplakov and Kolya Arutyunyan from Russia, Fevzi Mamutov from Ukraine. In the ending the Latvian wrestler won against Bulat  Atayev's (Russia. Thus, Andrey Vasilyev won a title of the champion for the fifth time.

In weight to 80 kg the gold medal was won by pupil Ivara Drupy from club K.Kundzinsh Edgars Spurinsh, having surely defeated all the rivals, including in the ending of the wrestler from Moscow Alexander Polikarpov.

The strong competition was in weight to 90 kg. It is enough to tell that behind line of prize-winners there were such eminent athletes, as the champion of Latvia on Greco-Roman wrestling, the absolute champion on Ej Dar wrestling Zbignev Romanovsky and the bronze prize-winner of the Kazan University games-2013 on wrestling on belts Yannis Roerich from Liyepai. The first place the participant of Olympic Games in London here won Armande Zvirbulis, the pupil of club Visvalda Freydenfeldsa, in the ending having broken resistance of the sevenfold champion of Latvia on free-style wrestling and the triple champion on Antanas Azarevich's beach wrestling (La club? i).

In the weight over 90 kg of all our veteran of free-style wrestling Igor Slakteris from Bausky, silver prize-winner of superiority of the world of 2006 among veterans surprised. The effective throws which have caused a storm of applause of the audience, he won two victories then in a semi-final won against the 14-fold champion of Latvia Anton Starichenko (La? i) taken the third place. And only Slakteris conceded in the ending to the world champion among juniors Imanta Lagodskomu from Daugavpils.
