The national team of Tajikistan returned from Iran where participated in the mixed single combats championship of Asia. Competitions took place from February 22 to February 26 in Tehran, in sport center of a name of the Imam Khomeini with participation of 560 fighters.

As reported "AP" the president of League of fighting sambo and the mixed fights (MMA) of Tajikistan Akhtam Hokirov, our national team on this superiority was represented by 18 athletes.

"The championship was open and the best fighters participated in it from 23 countries of the world. Duels passed in two age groups – from 15 to 18 years, and also from 18 years and are more senior. Despite a large number of participants and an intense competition, our fighters managed to prove and win ten medals, five of which – gold, and Artur Odilbekov became the owner of a belt absolute the championship of Asia", - A.Khokirov reported.

According to him, among young men 17-year-old Ubaydullo Radzhabov (60 kg) perfectly made a speech at competitions, won first place. It carried out 4 fights, having won in all an early victory with application of painful receptions.

Second "gold" among young men was won by Mukhsin Karimov who has acted in weight category of 65 kg. In the final it suffocating reception forced to capitulate the fighter from Afghanistan.

Among adults in the weight of 82 kg Olim Safarov got championship "gold". Skillfully using the favourite reception "кимура" (The painful reception of an elbow called in honor of the well-known Japanese judoist Masakhiko Kimura, - an editor's note), Olim managed to reach the final where met the Azerbaijani fayter.

"Fight was basic. Before a duel Olim's rival declared that "кимура" Safarova on it won't pass, and he will win against our fighter. But Olim already in the first round having applied the "crown" reception, I forced the Azerbaijanian to be given", - Akhtam Hokirov told.

The numerous winner of the international superiority Artur Odilbekov representing our national team in the weight of 86 kg, and showed this time great skills and won first place. Artur won one more "gold" and a belt of the all-around champion of Asia, surely having won decisive fight of the representative of owners of the championship.

On this superiority Farrukhu Sharopov got silver medals (adults, 56 kg) and Rakhmonzoda Kiyomiddinu (young men, 56 kg).

Bronze awards of the championship Hudoydod Rakhmonov (+95 kg), Solekh Chasanoff (95 kg) and the young fighter Firuz Karimov (65 kg) were awarded.

Now, according to the head of League, the Tajik athletes prepare for the open championship of North America on the mixed single combats (MMA) which will take place from March 22 to March 24 in Virzhiniya's staff of the USA. On this superiority the Tajik team will be presented by the trainer Akhtam Hokirov, and also athletes Zukhurbek Nurmakhmadov, Ubaydullo Radzhabov, Sukhrob Holikov, Muin Gafurov, Rustam Bokiyev, Ajzam Azizov and Ajzam Hokirov.
