Magomedov is one of the best Russian полусредневесов and has victories over such fighters, as Magomedrasul Hasbulayev (21-5), Shamil Zavurov (22-3-1), Igor Araudzho (24-6), Yasubey Enomoto (11-5) and Alexander Yakovlev (21-4-1).

Magomedov suffered the only defeat in career in a revenge with Hasbulayev (the separate decision; the first fight ended with the unanimous decision in favor of Magomedov) in 2010. Since then Magomedov won 8 victories in a row and won a title of the Champion of M-1.
