In St. Petersburg started the joint cultural project of the World Games of martial arts and the book network "Bukvoed"

"It is pleasant that we met not on a tatami, and at "Theatre show-window" of the Park of Culture and Reading where we plan to carry out a number of spectacular demonstration performances, and also to present to citizens of the book about the various directions of single combats, – the director general of the Petersburg book network "Bukvoed" Denis Kotov told. – It seems to us that books are thoughts, and they can be about a miscellaneous, including about martial arts".

According to Denis Kotov, the busiest athletes because intellectual people become champions, first of all, have to read books even. "This line of culture would be to be developed in our new project "The world Games of martial arts in "Bukvoed", – he declared to journalists.

From September 18 to October 26 in anticipation of and at the time of carrying out the World Games of martial arts the 2013th Petersburgers will be able to plunge into culture of single combats, to meet known athletes and heads of federations, to learn firsthand about subtleties of martial arts on the main event platforms of "Bukvoed". The project is urged to open deep meanings and values of single combats, emergence and development history for general public, to discredit the myths connected with martial arts.

 "In Beijing on the I World Games of martial arts, there was very interesting atmosphere. Even we, athletes, opened for ourselves a lot of new, became better to understand other types of single combats. There is a wish to trust, as in Petersburg we will have an opportunity to look at performances of children from other sports, – assumed Dvoretsky. – As for our national team, that, I hope, we will act adequately".

The vice-president of the Russian Federation of the ju-jitsu, the deserved trainer of Russia, the adviser of the president of JJIF George Kukoverov reminded that the national team on ju-jitsu won tournament in Beijing, on the I World Games of martial arts, and he hopes that in Petersburg our team will show worthy result.

The director general of League of masters of martial arts Demid Momot, the author of the book "Black belt" devoted stories of formation of martial arts and single combats in the USSR and Russia, told: "For me to write the book – a big problem. All the life I am engaged in practical activities in spite of the fact that in due time I mastered the thesis. I thought that I won't write more, I will put an end to it. But I wanted to tell how single combats developed in our country people who in youth sambos or judo were engaged became whom. I was one of those who stood at the origins of karate development in Leningrad when this sport was forbidden".

All participants of the press conference devoted to start of the project "The world Games of martial arts in "Bukvoed", expressed opinion, as meetings of athletes and trainers with readers, and World Games of martial arts 2013 which will take place from October 18 to October 26, will be interesting to citizens and guests of St. Petersburg.
