Closing of the European championship on muay-tay took place on August 22 in sport center "Locomotive" of G.Kirpy.

In a closing ceremony of competitions took part the deputy the Kharkov mayor concerning a family, youth and sports Alexander Popov, the president of the World federation muay-tay Akachay Chantosa, the president of the European confederation muay-tay Gabriela Murg.  Thai athlete Buakhau Banchamek became the guest of honor of a closing ceremony of the European tournament.

Alexander Popov on behalf of the Kharkov mayor Gennady Kernes greeted all participants of competitions.  "Everything who during the whole days of the championship watched fights, could see the uncompromising fight which was taking place on these rings.  I congratulate all participants of the championship irrespective of, they won or not", - the deputy the mayor addressed to present.

Also he congratulated all inhabitants and guests of Kharkov on a coming City Day and invited to take part in the actions devoted to this day.

In turn all participants of the championship were congratulated by the president of the World federation muay-tay Akachay Chantosa. "All of us are one big family under the name "muay-tay" therefore, coming to a ring, rivals have to respect each other", - the president of the World federation emphasized muay-tay.

During ceremony to all with welcome speech addressed and the president of the European confederation muay-tay Gabriela Murg. "Our European confederation is similar to the child who only learns to go. And we have to raise together everything it and bring up", - Gabriela Murg noted.

In a closing-time of the championship of the best athletes awarded with medals, cups and belts which they won.  Besides, from Russia, Ukraine, Israel and other countries certificates of judges were handed over to representatives on muay-tay and muay-boran.  Within the championship they became participants of a judicial seminar.  Such certificate was received also by Alexander Popov.

Let's remind, about 200 athletes participated in the Thai boxing European championship from 12 countries of the world. The honor to accept the championship was done Ukraine and Kharkov thanks to successful performances of the Ukrainian national team in three last World Cups on muay-tay in Thailand.
