Layman Gud left Bellator and at the moment is the free agent. The fighter benefited the Bellator tournament in a light-middleweight weight of the first season in 2009 and became the first champion of the organization in this weight. In 2010 he lost to Ben Askren the unanimous decision of judges and conceded the title.
Attempts to return a belt of the champion didn't crown success. It conceded in a semi-final of the fourth season to Ric Hawn the separate decision of judges, and in the ending of the seventh season he solidly lost to Andrey Koreshkov. The last time the Buzzing appeared in April of this year on Bellator 95.
"All Bellator command treated me very kindly throughout my career", declared the Buzzing in the press release. "They allowed me to appear where I will want. I yet don't know where I will move now, but I will continue to carry out fights … and perhaps I will return sometime to Bellator."
