Gilbert Ayvel debuted in MMA in 1997, and 3 years later debuted in Pride, possessing at that time a record 22-4 almost completely consisting of knockouts. Career in the main promotion of that time, alas, wasn't set: in 7 years Ayvel won only 2 of 10 duels which have been carried out in it.

In 2010 Gilbert Ayvel tried the luck in UFC, however was soon dismissed from promotion with a record 0-3.
