The champion of the Pskov area on fighting sambo and the bronze prize-winner of superiority of the Northwest federal district on fighting sambo Sergey Kovalev won title fight on the international tournament on the mixed single combats of M-1 Challenge 38 which passed on April 9 in St. Petersburg, in the Ice Sports palace.

"This victory is really very important for me. As for the fight, that it has to take place, I learned in only two weeks. The head of our club Alexey Prokofiev had to fight with Baben, but it injured a knee on training, and on replacement offered me. It was succeeded to find only some videos of fights of Gregory Baben. Something cardinally was to change in training process already late therefore it was necessary to increase only loadings and intensity of trainings. I hoped only for myself and for work of a trainer's staff of Action Force club. From those videos which were at our disposal, it was possible to draw a conclusion that it is a good parterist, very resourceful and viscous. Therefore emphasis in preparation for remained time I placed for work in a rack", - Sergey Kovalev right after fight reported.
Thus, notes the edition, the inhabitant of Pskovshchina participated for the first time in so representative tournament. On a question, whether it affected a psychological spirit, Kovalev answered so: "Certainly, a certain excitement was as before any fight, but I in single combats and learned to cope for a long time with the emotions. 27 years and I always show me to what I am ready".

" Sergey Kovalev answered so: "And it too, but, the main thing, wanted to leave a country town and somehow to leave from a way of life which would wait for me in Velikie Luki. I thought that with the higher education, after successful service in army I will easily find here work, but, it appeared, for me here not especially waited. I removed housing, I worked in security firm, I pulled a fiber-optical cable on roofs, was engaged, than it is necessary, but there was a wish to return to sports. Year I didn't train, then in the Internet found Action Force club. I then yet wasn't interested in purposefully mixed single combats, was a sign with them on the Internet and television translations, but further fighting sambo anything for myself didn't see. So the choice was sufficiently casual".
Kovalev Sergey Nikolaevich was born on February 7, 1986 in Glazunovo's village of the Usvyatsky region of the Pskov area.
In 2004 I arrived in the Velikiye Luki state academy of physical culture and sport from which graduated in 2008 in the specialty the trainer-teacher of physical culture. During study at first was engaged in track and field athletics (javelin throw), then switched over to sambo.
