Last year the Belarusian sambo wrestlers made a speech for the first time at the World Cup in the fighting section. Also could win the second place in the general offset. This result is how natural, whether the command to repeat success in 2013 will be able?

The idea of creation of federation of fighting sambo soared in Republic of Belarus long ago, but its realization wasn't reached all the time by hands. That didn't suffice enthusiasts, finance, time. That is curious – in Republic of Belarus at decent level single combats are developed, to remember at least very quite good season in UFC (2005-2006) of the master of sports of the international class on sambo of Andrey Arlovskogo who then became the eleventh champion in heavy category. Except sambo and judo in the republic are respected big respect Thai boxing, тхэквондо, boxing. And here taking into account that all necessary components were present, fighting sambo as official sport in Belarus wasn't. Ridiculously, huh?

However for a long time it wasn't succeeded to relax as the World Cup in sambo of 2012 also it was decided to hold in Minsk. After four European medals, on "world" it was necessary to expose fighters. But how? Budgetary funds aren't present, the halls aren't present, anything isn't present. And then the initiative group led by Vakhtang Sokhadzei Alexander Voronovich, the champion of Europe 2010 in weight category to 100 kg, decided to assume fire.

How there was a Federation of fighting sambo and the mixed martial arts of Belarus, chairman Vakhtang Sokhadze told it:

"So historically it developed that in our countries of sambo and judo develop in parallel, athletes are masters in both sports. And I not an exception, besides work in power structures of Republic of Belarus, I serve at Institute of national security and I know from within all system of preparation power division. Initially the impulse proceeded from there: to us suggested to develop in power divisions hand-to-hand fight. But fighting sambo is suitable for this purpose" better.

Collected the constituent assembly, received good and support from the Belarusian Federation of Sambo (BFS), registered the. To the championship held three tournaments which played a role not only selection competitions, but served matter of promoting of fighting sambo in broad masses. In qualifying tournaments tried the forces representatives of different types of single combats, but the basis of the national team was made by representatives of sambo and judo. Then there was short, but an intensive period of preparation. To drummers put wrestling equipment, to fighters – shock. Fighting sambo wrestlers were helped very much by boxing coachs of a national team.

Now in Belarus there is one officially registered club of fighting sambo and the mixed martial arts "League". But there are schools where along with sports sambo, develop also the fighting. In June, 2012 in "League" the group of initial preparation of fighting sambo where teenagers are engaged opened. Along with it there is also an adult, professional group – the athletes speaking at tournaments and the championships. In the next plans to open in "League" section for girls and girls. It is rather for fitness and self-defense, after all in fighting sambo there is no female section.

"To make sambo by more mass, we plan to hold some amateur competitions for teenagers who are engaged at sports schools, - Vakhtang Sokhadze continues. – That they had an opportunity not only to train, but also to get competitive experience. The restrictions corresponding to opportunities of athletes with initial level of preparation will be brought in rules. And, of course, we plan different advertizing campaigns that young men learned about our movement".

This year under the auspices of Federation and "League" it is planned to carry out a series of club competitions on fighting sambo of "Combat Sambo LIGA Championship" which will consist of four tournaments, and in the end of the year will pass final fights for a title of the champion. Already many clubs and teams, including representing power structures gave a consent. Two official starts – a cup and the republic championship, the first selection are in addition planned for the European championship, by the second to the championship to the world.
