As reported "TZh", recently the girl child prodigy won three gold medals on championship of Russia in sumo among sportswomen to 19 and till 22 years.

And last Sunday Svetlana rose and by the highest step of a national pedestal on female wrestling which is included in the Olympic program. In Krasnoyarsk it became the strongest among a kadetok (till 17 years) in category to 70 kg. Without any doubt, it is historical success – the first Russian gold of the Upper Volga in female wrestling since the beginning of the 2000th years when the national podium was subdued by Maria Srybnaya from Udomlya.

As the former sports gymnast trained for a new profession in sumotori, her father and the trainer Mikhail Petrov in detail told in number "TZh" for March 13. Svetlana and her younger sister Alyona started being engaged in female wrestling (a maiden kind of free-style wrestling) two years ago as help for sumo. But also here they achieved good results.

Petrova Sr. debut on a national carpet fell on last year. Then it won a silver medal among girls till 15 years. After all the competition and skill of participants here is much higher, than in still exotic sumo for our country. It is clear that in Krasnoyarsk last Sunday where kadetka till 17 years fought already, nobody waited from Ostashkov's young representative of a victory.

– At best we hoped that Petrova will be among prize-winners. For it it would be good achievement, – the senior free-style wrestling coach of the Tver national team Anatoly Vlasov admits.

Probably, and competitors on superiority of the country didn't apprehend seriously the 14-year-old sportswoman from the Tver region. Oh, as they miscalculated!

– Light, what you felt when rose by the highest step of a national podium? – I couldn't but ask a question and the young champion.

– Pride! Simplification that didn't afflict the father and I coped with the task for all hundred percent. And, of course, pleasure.

– How you think at the expense of what Svetlana for half a year could add and change so strongly the Russian silver among girls till 15 years for gold among a kadetok to 17? – I addressed to Mikhail.

– We work. We train that is called we don't feel sorry for ourselves much. Experience of performances at the highest level affects also. After all on sumo wrestling Sveta more than once won sure victories over competitors of some years more senior and not only on superiority of Russia, but also on the international tournaments.

Really, Svetlana Petrova's schedule is painted literally on minutes. National superiority in Krasnoyarsk increased loading even more, after all on these starts passed selection in national teams for performance on championships of Europe, the world and the junior Olympic Games in female wrestling. To summer vacations our sportswoman waits also a number of prestigious competitions in sumo: at the end of April – superiority of Europe in Warsaw (Poland), the middle of May – superiority of Russia in Chekhov (Moscow region). There, in Moscow area, on May 18 Svetlana, most likely, also will meet the 15th birthday.
