The wrestler Imant Lagodskis to 97 kg on start conceded in weight category to future winner Zviadi Metreveli from Georgia (1-3). As the Georgian fighter reached the final and became the winner of Parisian "Grand Prix", Lagodskis got chance in consolatory tournament and won there a victory over Pole Kamil Voytsekhovski (10-0). There was a chance at Imant to take the third place, however fight for it was lost to American Vane Michalak (3-9).

The second representative of Latvia in Armande Zvirboulis's free-style wrestling began in Paris not bad, having overcome Georgian Gochu Lomtatidze (11-4), however then contacted on a grid future winner — Spaniard Friyev Taymuraz (0-5).
