Our wrestlers — again medallists. On December 6-8 in Pskov passed the international tournament on Greco-Roman wrestling in which took part more than 200 wrestlers from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, Poland.

The team of Daugavpils was represented by pupils of trainers Vitaly Verdinsh and Dmitry Lapy. Following the results of tournament Vilmar Frilinsh took the 1st place and Vladislav Mikhaylov took the 3rd place. In the same terms in Vilnius passed the international tournament with participation more than 250 wrestlers from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Norway, Belarus, Poland. Alexander Yurkyan, having won three fights, took the 1st place.

 However this time an occasion to glance in DYuSSh office on Raynya Street, 31 steels not wrestlers, and their colleagues on sports — great ladies: trainers and pupils of office of female free-style wrestling.

 The fine — literally words: nice, harmonous, blossoming, vigorous, completely breaking a stereotype of an image of "wrestler". Victories in a moneybox of sportswomen — a set, but not this main thing. According to the trainer Lyubov Kopylova, good physical preparation and ability to protect itself in any situations where it is more important.

 The office of female free-style wrestling at Daugavpils sport school exists less than a decade. The victory of our known sportswoman Victoria Grigoryeva became a reason for its emergence. The judoist Victoria became the bronze prize-winner of the world among juniors on free-style wrestling and laid the foundation of a series of loud victories in this field.

 — Till 2005 in our city nobody was engaged in female free-style wrestling. There was a judo. I trained girls of judoists, and then exposed them at female wrestling competitions, and results went. Victoria Grigoryeva was engaged in judo at the trainer Theodor Bykovsky and then already had a blue belt. It left judo and became outlaws. In 2006 the medal was received by Irina Kopylova (nowadays Petrov, it and the trainer), in 2007 Nastya Grigoryeva became the silver prize-winner in the European championship, Irina took the fifth place. The moneybox of our medals replenishes from year to year. One Anastasia Grigoryeva of that costs — the repeated prize-winner of the world and Europe, and its last status — the champion of Europe among adults which she received this year.

 Free-style wrestling — a sport traditionally man's. However now female free-style wrestling actively develops in the world, it was included in the Olympic program. To our sportswomen and this level on a shoulder. Though the competition is very strong: according to the trainer, the weak countries now aren't present. But than female wrestling is attractive — this question is answered too by Lyubov Kopylova:

 — Who told, what it not a female sport? Female long ago became both soccer, and basketball, and wrestling, and many other things... Any kind of sports is injury-causing. It is possible to be traumatized, even being engaged in nothing. Look at our little girls — they such pretty, are perfectly put.

 Lyubov Kopylova adds:  in a hall are always glad to accept everyone to master this sport.  It isn't necessary to be afraid, it isn't necessary to hesitate — you come and be engaged.  Especially as the atmosphere — very friendly, warm.  It will be possible to be convinced of it this Saturday on "cheerful starts" which will begin at 10.00 in sports club.
