The Russian state mining company ALROSA and Federation of wrestling of Russia signed the contract on cooperation. Under the terms of the agreement, JSC ALROSA will be the general partner of FSBR to the Olympic Games of 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
ALROSA - the world's largest diamond-mining company. Its share in world production of diamond raw materials makes about 27%. ALROSA was created and conducts the main work in Yakutia where wrestling is the basic from cultivated sports. Yakutia – the homeland of many masters of sports on free-style wrestling, including two Olympic champions. In 2014 Yakutia will host the free-style wrestling championship of Russia.
"To new victories the Russian wrestlers will go together with ALROSA. Support of one of the largest companies of world level will allow FSBR to be engaged in promotion and wrestling promoting, to expand geography of our sport, to make it more available to youth, and also to strengthen positions of Russia on the world scene", - the president of FSBR, the Olympic champion Mikhail Mamiashvili emphasized.
Wrestling - one of the few sports in which Russian national team took priority in a team competition at all Olympic Games. The Russian wrestlers at the Olympic Games of 1996-2012 won 25 gold medals. Today wrestling develops in 61 regions of the country. Russia played a crucial role in wrestling preservation in the program of the Olympic Games, and also reforming of this sport.
