In Sumy took place the Greco-Roman wrestling championship of area

On February 22 nearly 200 participants gathered in sport center "Olympus" from five regions of area to define, whose school the best in this sport. For today Greco-Roman wrestling develops in Sumy, Konotop (from where the Olympic champion of Seoul-88 Mikhail Mamiashvili and whose name local DYuSSh is called a sort), Putivle, Shostke and Buryni.

According to the president of Federation of Greco-Roman wrestling of Sumshchina Andrey Aldayev, for today there is no opportunity to open more schools.

— I would like to develop our wrestling in Akhtyrke, Romnakh, to Lebedina, but doesn't suffice shots — he speaks. — The person has to have the experience, the higher education. We after all and in Sumy work only the fourth year. But during this time almost caught up with Konotop. I think, still a two-three of years — and we will overtake.

In the Sumy tournament wrestlers of four age categories — from 6 to 15 years competed. The most young participant, 6-year-old  Nazar Obod, deservedly became the champion of area, having easily laid on shovels of more senior rivals. Also among 7-8-year-old victories were won by Artem Poroskun, Kirill Evmenov, Saveli Brazhnik, Zhenya Kunduk (all — Sumy), Sasha Bondar, Philip Nachovny, Kirill Shevchenko (all — Konotop).

In an age category of 2003 - 2004 of river of a victory for Sascha Hegel, Imed Hudzhadze, Anton Klimentov, Sasha Tsybulko (all — Konotop), Ivan Kovalyov, Ivan Tereshchenko (they are Sumy) and Dima Novikov (Putivl).

Among 12-13-year-old wrestlers Artem Panchenko (Shostka), Bogdan Nekras, Daniil Kurilenko, Igor Shevel (all — Sumy), Vitaly Stetsenko, Bogdan Shelma (both is Konotop), Stas Luchaninov, Mikhail Sukhostavets (both is Putivl) became strongest.

In the most senior category (1999-2000 of river) Alexander Sakunov, Daniil Komashko, Nikolay Konoval, Anatoly Vasilets, Victor Samsonenko (all — Konotop), Daniil Ukharsky (Sumy) and Vyacheslav Zaykin (Putivl) became champions.

In the overall ranking the victory was won by konotopsky team, on the second place — the sumschina, on the third — children from Putivl.
