For the first time passed republican tournament in the oil capital of the country on the Greco-Roman and free-style wrestling, devoted to an anniversary – the 25 anniversary of a withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.

Competitions of wrestlers were preceded by a ceremonial opening which was accompanied by festive procession of honourable military guard, performance of a military orchestra and wrestlers of special troops. At the opening ceremony the top military commander of regional command of "Batys" colonel Murat Nugmanov participated. ... Four days in the sports hall of Atyrausky state university of a name of H. Dosmukhamedov passed hot duels of wrestlers Greco-Roman and the freestyle, regions of the country representing the majority. By the way, the age of the most young wrestlers wrestlers didn't exceed 12 years, and the seniors in Greco-Roman wrestling – 17 years. According to the protocol of competitions, in both types of fight athletes in 12 weight categories – from 24 to over 76 kg competed. Dastanbek Esimzhan, Taribai Dauliet (both is from Alma-Ata), our Azat Askhatov from Inder, Kadirbayev Algabek (Kandyagash), Tursynbay Daulet (Taldykorgan), the owner of a carpet - Ulykpang Nugaibai and kyzylordinets Sarsenbayev Zhanazar became winners of this representative tournament in the weight categories, in particular, Abdumalik Razmatov from Merk, Sultan Kurmanaliyev from Astana.
