The right to cut a blue ribbon was provided to the chairman of Agency on affairs of sports and physical culture Tastanbek Esentayev and the director of specialized boarding school Serik Tokiyev. At a ceremony of opening there were also eminent athletes of the country: the Olympic champion in boxing Bakhtiyar Artayev, the silver prize-winner of Athens on Greco-Roman wrestling Georgy Tsurtsuniya and the bronze prize-winner of Beijing on taekvondo Armand Tchilmanov.

– Annually in the republic not less than 10 large sports constructions are put into operation, – noted during a ceremonial opening Tastanbek Esentayev. – It became possible thanks to huge attention to sports development from the President Nursultan Nazarbayev, and also thanks to sporting achievements of the Kazakhstan athletes on the international scene. We hope that in the sports complex "Zhas-batyr" which belongs to specialized boarding school and college of the Olympic reserve of a name of Hadzhimukan Munaytpasov, world champions and the Olympic Games will grow up.

In the program of a holiday there were speeches of known akyns and performers. And pupils of specialized school among whom there are a lot of champions of the republic, showed the skill in demonstration performances.

The sports complex "Zhas-batyr" settled down in the territory of the former stadium "Lokomotiv" in northern part of the capital. There are halls for classes in Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, taekvondo, to boxing, and in the sports and household case – a football field of 90 x 60 m in size, tribunes on 300 places, racetracks, basketball and volleyball platforms, arenas for shot put, long jumps and height.
