For the Uzbek wrestlers it is possible to call an ended season fully successful. Practically from each large start, our athletes came back with the won awards.

From the emotional point of view, leaving 2013 was heavy for wrestlers of the whole world in connection with changes which appeared suddenly in this type of single combats for the last months. These shocks not strongly affected and speeches of the Uzbek athletes which continued to hoist the colors of Uzbekistan on the most prestigious competitions. So, we will list their most considerable achievements for 2013.

In April in the championship of Asia in the capital of India of New Delhi members of the national team of Uzbekistan won at once four "gold". In competitions on Greco-Roman wrestling first place in the weight categories was won by Elmurat Tasmuradov (60 kg) and Rustam Assakalov (84 kg). In competitions among "free-stylers" Rasheed Kurbanov (74 kg) and Umidzhon Ismanov (84 kg) rose by the highest steps of a pedestal. For our children it there was the first large start after performances at the Olympic Games-2012 in London. For this period of time the line-up was strongly updated, approximately percent on 80. As then I noted a trainer's staff, - all children acted not bad. Certainly, at someone it turned out better to make, at someone is worse. Nevertheless, fruits of that lot of work which they did during long preparation for superiority of the continent were visible.

Further Elmurat Tasmuradov and Rasheed Kurbanov consolidated the previous progress and made a season even more successful not only for itself, but also for teams of Uzbekistan as a whole, having won bronze medals on a past in September in Budapest (Hungary) the World Cup. Performance of our teams was estimated positively, especially considering that for the last four years wrestlers of the Greco-Roman style didn't bring a medal from the World Cups. It should be noted that fact that Tasmuradov won "bronze", competing in the strongest structure of wrestlers in the category 60 kg. Yes, other children remained without medals, however nevertheless we planned shift to the best. It can't but please.

In November our both heroes entered wrestling on final tournament of a series of the Grand Prix to Baku (Azerbaijan). Unfortunately, Elmurat acted unsuccessfully and remained out of a pedestal. In turn, Rasheed carried out again an objective, in the second time in a row having won an award of the highest advantage of the Azerbaijani prestigious tournament and, having given one more reason to be glad to its success. Undoubtedly, it is the best season in career of the 26-year-old athlete.

Fruitfully carried out a season and representatives of younger generation of wrestlers. In the World Cup among youth in Sofia (Bulgaria) the wrestlers Makhmudzhon Shavkatov took "bronze" in categories of 50 kg.

Members of a national team of Uzbekistan on Greco-Roman wrestling among cadets Dzhavokhir Mirakhmedov (46 kg) and Kamariddin Zayniddinov (50 kg) became bronze prize-winners of the World Cup which has taken place in the Serbian Zrenjanin in August.

On junior continental superiority in the Thai city of Phuket in July our team took seven medals – one gold and six bronze. Three awards in a moneybox of our team were brought by wrestlers of the Greco-Roman style. Ahmad Makhmudov rose by the highest step of a pedestal in weight category to 55 kg. Bronze medals won Zhanibek Otabekov (to 84 kg) and Dzhakhongir Turdiyev (to 96 kg). Other awards of bronze advantage were won by "free-stylers", among them Mahmoud Shavkatov (to 50 kg), Mukhamadsidik Dzhurayev (to 60 kg), Tekhron Hodzhayev (to 74 kg) and Aslon Gadoyev (to 120 kg).

Following the results of the free-style, Greco-Roman and female wrestling championship of Asia among cadets in Ulan Bator (Mongolia) our team won in total nine medals. Gold: Ilkhom Bakhromov (weight category - 46 kg, Greco-Roman wrestling), Abbos Rakhmanov (50 kg, free-style wrestling). Silver: Kamarinddin Zayniddinov (50 kg, Greco-Roman wrestling), Islomiddin Nematov (58 kg, Greco-Roman wrestling). Bronze: Sanzhar Masharipov (76 kg, free-style wrestling), Dalerrakhmatov (100 kg, Greco-Roman wrestling), Mirzo Bekrakhmatov (63 kg, Greco-Roman wrestling), Dzhakhongirmirzo Nurmatov (76 kg, Greco-Roman wrestling), Halbazar Narbayeva (65 kg, female wrestling).

All this is good help for competent development of domestic school of wrestling and further progress of our young talents. Well, and for adults – the base for successful performance in the World Cup in September, 2014 in Tashkent. 2014 will be not only very saturated, but also heavy. Besides a house world championship, the adult generation is expected by the XVII Asian games in South Korea, and young wrestlers – the II summer junior Olympic Games in China.

Complexity of the future world championship at us in the capital consists not only in successful speech of the Uzbek athletes in native walls, but also in the competent organization of competitions. Therefore the management of association began preparation for its carrying out beforehand. Now the organizing committee is already created.

It will be the first World Cup after so-called revival of wrestling as Olympic sport.  We will note that the expiring year was given for FILA and federations of this sport of all countries the very intense.  For the first time in history wrestling could be unseated in the Olympic family.  In February of this year the decision of executive committee of the IOC, wrestling along with seven sports disciplines was recommended in the list of applicants for inclusion in the Igr-2020 program, without having got there directly as it always was earlier.  After that FILA went for numerous reforms:  replaced the president, adjusted dialogue with the IOC, made serious changes to rules, having made wrestling by more spectacular and clear sport.  Having estimated the made efforts, the IOC at September session in Buenos Aires voted for wrestling inclusion in the final list of the sports included in the Olympic Games-2020.

The president of FILA Nenad Lalovich promised that shortly housewives will start understanding wrestling even: "Earlier there were situations when even professionals didn't understand why wrestling came to the end in favor of this or that wrestlers. From now on such won't be".

In the middle of December of FILA published new weight categories and some additions to new rules which will come into force since January 1, 2014. That aspect is especially important that at reduction of weight categories from seven to six in all types of wrestling at the Olympic Games, in the world and continental championships the amount of weight categories, on the contrary will increase to eight.

Having commented on above-mentioned innovations, the secretary general of Association of wrestling of Uzbekistan and the vice-president of the Judicial commission of FILA Konstantin Mikhaylov noted: "If sending commands for these or those starts earlier, we had ideas of favourites in each weight, now at the beginning it will occur to some extent "blindly". Many participants who were acting in one weight and well knowing manners of maintaining a duel of each other, will be from now on separated. Has to pass certain time that athletes got accustomed to new categories. Speaking directly: someone should put to steam of kilograms on weight, and to someone – on the contrary, to lower. How strongly from it the balance of forces between the leading countries in the free-style and Greco-Roman wrestling will change, – will show time".

On turn – and preparation for the Olympic Games-2016

The tasks established in the resolution of the President of RUZ "About Training of Athletes of Uzbekistan for the XXXI Summer Olympic and XV Paralympic Games of 2016 in the City of Rio De Janeiro (Brazil)" from February 25, 2013, are solved already now.   Now in all areas of the country there are gyms and sections on wrestling are open for children.   Carried-out work in each region was inspected by representatives of Association of wrestling of Uzbekistan.   Decisions of khokoms the areas, each regional federation by this type of single combats fixed the corresponding sponsors. 

For preparation for all responsible starts our teams according to the free-style, female and Greco-Roman wrestling constantly take part in educational and training collecting about the country and abroad together with various national teams of the countries of Asia and Europe, among which Ukraine, China, South Korea, etc.

Since 2014 wrestling (free and Greek-Roman) will be included by the decision of the government of RUZ in three-stage system of sports competitions – "Umid Nikhollari", "Barkamol Avlod", "University games". 

Such here saturated 2013 for wrestling Association was given.  As you already managed to understand, the next year will be still  more interestingly.
