On Saturday December 21 the gym of sports school No. 2 accepted traditional tournament on Greco-Roman wrestling which had this time the international status.

Thanks to strong structure of participants and authority of the main organizer — Malika Eskanderova, to Mozyr this time arrived, except the Belarusian wrestlers also representatives of Azerbaijan, the country where wrestlingis almost the most popular sport.

Tournament on Greco-Roman wrestling which is annually held to Mozyre, is one of the most significant events in the Belarusian sporting world on the eve of New Year. And among wrestlers of the Greek-Roman style at all competition in the capital of Polesye has the special status, many domestic masters began the nice sports way with fights of mozyrsky competition which from year to year only gains the popularity.

Among participants – the bronze prize-winner of the World Cup-2013 in Greco-Roman wrestling Jaweed Gamzatov. It is pleasant that Jaweed doesn't forget the trainer thanks to whom then still absolutely young wrestler arrived to Belarus — Malika Endizhayevicha Eskanderova. It is curious that now Jaweed is trained by Eskanderov's one more pupil, the double world champion Alim Selimov who always comes to Mozyr on tournament opening to express the respect to the mentor and to greet the young wrestlers one of which Alim and itself was once.

The intrigue to tournament was given by participation in it Azerbaijani team which in each weight category and age group, exposed strong athletes and, frankly speaking, it was necessary to our wrestlers hardly in opposition with young Caucasian athletes. However, about results of this most interesting competition we still will manage to talk for now, we will be glad that mozyrsky superiority progresses so promptly.
