Fighters participated in this open superiority of Ukraine from Russia, Belarus and practically all areas of Ukraine. Ivan Papushenko and Evgeny Toarka together represented Odessa region on behalf of sports club "Kotigoroshko". The first acted in weight category to 130 kg, the second – in category  63 kg.

- The wrestling mat was located in 30 meters from the sea in the open air under a canopy, - Ivan Papushenko tells. - For those who got used to fight in a hall, it was test. Sea wind, the territory of a carpet 12х12, and around sand – it is unusual! In the morning a rain, a half-carpet it is filled in, air temperature +14 – directly fall! Only to final fights, after a dinner, there was a sun …

But for the Bessarabia wrestlers it was to be measured by a silushka in the open air not in a novelty – long-term practice of performances affected traditional national festivals. By the way, the tradition unfairly forgotten in Pridunavye!

Veterans of sports Ivan Papushenko and Evgeny Toarka in the weight categories won bronze medals of the Championship of Ukraine, having conceded only in final duels to prize-winners of the World Cups from Belarus. They brought 60 points on account of Odessa region in team competitions.

In an all-team competition Odessa took the 13th place. For an example: the team of Dnepropetrovsk, the winner in command superiority, exposed 25 wrestlers. Is called – feel a difference!

These competitions became perfect to the World Cup which will take place in the fall of this year to Sarajevo. Ivan Papushenko, the master of sports of the USSR on free-style wrestling, in recent years successfully tests in different types of single combats – Greco-Roman wrestling and sambo.

Present competitions were held by new rules of the international wrestling federation of FILA. For example, time of duels - two periods for three minutes, instead of former two minutes is increased, pushing out of the opponent out of carpet limits any more doesn't bring additional points and so on. Conclusion – it is necessary to wrestling tekhnichny more spectacularly.

- It is interesting to me to test in new rules, to wrestling, using equipment new to me, - Ivan Georgiyevich speaks. - Wrestling is life, and new wrestling – new life! And certainly, daily year-round swimming in Danube gives additional energy and forces on restoration after fights.

Our wrestlers entered into the national team of Ukraine on Greco-Roman wrestling and will protect now honor of the country in the World Cup to Sarajevo.
