On February 22-23 in the city of Vardyo which is located on the narrow island in 6 km of the most northern part of Norway and where lives only 2 thousand people, the championship of Northern Norway and the Cup "Varanger Kraft" on Greco-Roman wrestling took place.

"Varanger Kraft" — is the Norwegian, municipal company which operates hydroelectric power stations.

To this god the forgotten corner on competitions there arrived 118 athletes from 11 Norwegian and one Finnish club. Competitions took place among young men in different age groups and adults.

In group of boys till 12 years in weight category of 37 kg Gilani Dzortov from Vadsyo became the champion. He won the three fights in in view of a clear advantage.

In the weight of 44 kg there were 8 participants. Ramazan Tangiyev won two fights, lost one and fought in consolatory group for the third place. This duel with Mikkel Dzhernsletten became record on productivity. Rivals serially saw off different receptions and the secretary hardly managed to show to the audience points. Tangiyev won the first period with the score 14:7. In the second at the score 9:9 the Norwegian got a victory on the last active action. In the decisive period the Ramazan won — 9:3 and won a bronze medal.

Among young men till 15 years Aziz Dzortov became the champion in the weight of 42 kg. He won four fights, and in the ending defeated the rival.

In category of 47 kg Iza Bersanov (on a photo) won two meetings and reached the final. The decisive duel with Amund Bertkhyossen was very intense to what his account — 4:6, 6:5, 6:6 testifies. Fortunately, it was in favor of Bersanov who became a champion.

Among adult athletes the gold medal was won by Said Saidakhmedov in category of 96 kg. He won against the rival in three periods the ending — 0:1, 3:2, 4:0. Mahomed Bersanov in the weight of 66 kg and bronze Islam Tangiyev in 74 kg became the silver prize-winner.

Among children of 6-8 years of a place weren't played, they showed only equipment, but all were awarded by medals. Nevertheless, it is necessary to distinguish from them Dhaka Gakayev who won four fights in in view of a clear advantage, without having given to rivals of any point.
