George Bryusov: the Russian part of the world campaign of Save Olympic Wrestling under the name "Wrestling! To be continued …" started yesterday in Moscow, Kaliningrad and Cheboksary

The international federation of the integrated styles of wrestling (FILA) officially declared the decision to spend World month of wrestling under the motto Save Olympic Wrestling (SOW). The Russian part of the world campaign of SOW under the name "Wrestling! To be continued…" started on April 6 at once in three cities – on tournament on free-style wrestling on Andrey Shumilin's prizes in Kaliningrad, championship of Russia in Greco-Roman wrestling among cadets in Moscow and on tournament on free-style wrestling in Cheboksary. The coordinator of the FILA working group, the first vice-president of the Federation of Wrestling of Russia (FWR) George Bryusov told WRESTRUS.RU, the SOW company was for what purpose organized.

"The initial shock caused by the decision of executive committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) not to recommend wrestling for inclusion in the Igr-2020 program, is overcome, - George Bryusov stated.  –  The new management of FILA and the national federations which have rallied round it let know clearly to world sports movement:  the signal to updating is heard, the call is accepted.  The obnovlenchestvo came to change to protests in all spheres of world wrestling.  New vision of wrestling has to get approval on the extraordinary Congress of FILA which will pass on May 18 in Moscow, and already on May 29 will be presented on court of 15 members of executive committee the IOC in St. Petersburg.

Need to keep wrestling in the Olympic program was declared by the most influential politicians of the whole world. The president of Russia Vladimir Putin called the executive committee decision the IOC unjustified, but urged to adjust dialogue about the IOC. Doesn't pass day that in support of wrestling this or that politician, public, the figure, representatives of culture and sports didn't speak. ".

"Carrying out campaign of Save Olympic Wrestling is urged to focus attention to a problem, to consolidate efforts of all countries, widely to propagandize really unique qualities – general availability, universality of the sport making an integral part of culture and genetic memory of each people, occupying our planet, - George Bryusov continued. – FILA officially declared the decision to spend World month of wrestling under the motto Save Olympic Wrestling. This campaign is carried out at the initiative of national federations of the USA, Russia and Iran, but planned that the wrestling organizations of 174 countries will join it.

The Russian part of the world campaign of SOW under the name "Wrestling!
