Head of Buddhists of Russia critically treats idea of executive committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to exclude wrestling from the list of the Olympic sports

Buryatia is one of the recognized centers of wrestling.
Executive committee intention the IOC to exclude wrestling from the list of the Olympic sports earlier caused negative reaction of the secular authorities of Buryatia. In February the head of the republic Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn also called "wrong" this recommendation of executive committee. And a bit later the parliament of Buryatia accepted the address to the IOC and to the Russian Olympic Committee with a request to leave free-style wrestling in the program of summer Games.
Free-style wrestling in Buryatia - one of leading sports, along with firing from onions. More than 16 thousand people are engaged in it. For almost 50-year history of this sport in Buryatia one of leading schools of free-style wrestling in Russia is created. Pupils achieved noticeable successes. In particular, Boris Budayev won ranks of the world champion, Europe, Asia, the USSR, Russia. The summer Olympic Games in London in 2012 also became successful for female wrestling - Lyubov Volosova from Buryatia won a bronze award.
